what is websence? http://www.websense.com/content/support/library/deployctr/v76/dic_wsg_sw.aspx

Why he asked you about it?

1)Because a lot of company use websence on their company machine.

2)Because websence have some compatibility problem with certain software.

symona, I am fairly certain the following will have Fences work for you without the error:

https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

The problem is that:

  • Your IT people will not likely allow you to do it or will have policies, apps, settings (one that is very likely causing the issue) that must run.
  • You will have to find the offending app / setting / policy once shown that a new account, and or the clean boot, works.

With the countless apps that clients can have installed, we can't participate in helping you find what one is causing it.

also if you have a way that i can supply the service/apps list that i have installed on my pc.

if you have some utiliy i can run and you will be able to see which service/apps are installed.

after that maybe you will be able to tell me which services/apps to disable/uninstall

Quoting symona, reply 30

End of symona's quote

There are just too many for us to be able to participate I am afraid.  We need to demonstrate that Fences will function on a PC with the default apps and services installed and enabled.

That said, if you find the cause of the issue through the process of elimination, we would be thankful if you would pass it along.

good news fences is working again.

but now i have something very strange i have DeskScapes 8 also installed.

each time i am right click on the desktop the fences roll up is viable and not working meaning you can icons if it is rolled or not.

when i kill the explorer again fences is working  DeskScapes is paused after the kill but when right click is again activate the DeskScapes

and fences roll up going crazy again (it is strange icons are not clickable just view able but when you try to multiple mark them they disappear).

sometimes after pc restart everything is playing together but it is very annoying.

I looked back on all the other comments and I think it is time for you to start over with a

clean re-install of windows . I just had a similar problem with my older PC with Win 10 and

some of my programs not working right , after reinstalling windows things worked better.

Might take a week to reload all your stuff , so make a back up of all you want to keep first.

With that said , and you say it's not an iT problem and you don't want to reinstall Windows

then you will have to either do a clean boot or Purge both of the effected programs reboot

then reinstall each again , just make sure one is working right before you install the second one.

I run both Deskscapes and Fences with roll up on Win 10 with no problems.

Below the links you need for both programs.

Before you do any of this make sure you have " WINDOWS " fully updated and

Not having Windows update problems ..

Deskscapes

Purge  https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling

Clean Boot https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot

Fences

Purge https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Clean Boot https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

make sure  you reboot first before reinstalling the program again.

and double check with your iT dept. that they don't have a security block that

might be causing you your problems.
