Help with Incorrect DLL Revision

Help with Incorrect DLL Revision

I hope someone can help me with this.Every so many days when I start ny computer and starts to load, a message opens and says:
"Incorrect DLL Revision"

"The version of wblind.dll is not compatible with this loader. If you have installed a patch then ensure you have updated all the files"

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

that is the wrong .dll file (that one is from the Object Desktop Folder). Re-install thru SDC and it will load correct .dll in Stardock folder

I don't have a clue, GG... I just check Component Tray for updates every day or so.
I have it set to only show me released versions.

I think there're going to keep it in pre-release forever just so we have something to talk about

I did reinstall it through SDC about 21/2 weeks ago.

GG, dump SDC, reinstall CM, you already have WB3.5a installed. Why put yourself through all these headaches?

ummmmm...the file should be 446kb, dated 4/2/03 in the stardock folder...refresh app.data in SDC

I think I am about to go a little dizzy right now!!!
One question; Is WB 3.5 compatible with SDC?
It was paxx that convinced me to switch over from CM to SDC

When I first switched from CM to SDC, I un-installed WBlinds
I reinstalled it again through SDC.

But I did re-install through SDC more than 2 weeks ago!

You go Gary.... you'll get GG up and running...

Thanks Jim.....now GG...if it shows as 3.50 that means you loaded it after downloading new verison. Since the dll file was newer it probably didn't overwrite it. Look to see if you show 2 wblind app. in SDC....while you're looking I want to try something...be right back

here we go...in SDC right check on Wblind and archive 'selected App'. After it does that(and it will take a minute or so) right click again and hit update. You should end up with version 3.99c[b].009 and version 3.50showing under available.

3.90a
-----
-Reboot after installing this build.
-Did you reboot yet?
-Bunch o' fixes and fun
-turned on the fix for compressed apps (oops).
-CrazyBrowser should be happy.
-agent should be happy
-start menu transparency issues (pj) worked on
-trillian should be happy
-indesign should be happy
-psp + wb + wfx should be happy
-speedcommander should be happy
-cannot reproduce issues with copernic (anyone
having trouble?)
-cmd.exe properties menu should work now
-skin tweaks to colony and beacon
-If you experienced a BSOD with 3.90 (which appears
to be tied to some RADEON drivers and something
else), please make sure you've set your system
to create a minidump. System control panel, advanced,
startup and recovery, 'Write Debugging Information',
set to 'Small memory dump'), repro the issue, and
email [email protected] the dump file(saved in Windows\Minidump).

3.9
---
-First external alpha release of WindowBlinds 4. The
initial few builds will be XP-only to help us narrow
the scope of problem reports as the development cycle
proceeds.
-Expect a WB 3.51 beta in the next week as well with
additional fixes and performance improvements for
all supported platforms. This will include things like
fixes for WMP9 as well as the compressed app fix
(on 2000/XP) that's part of WB4. We have not yet
decided on the cut-off date for free upgrades
to WB4. That decision will be made as we get
closer to 4.0. Current OD subscriptions when
the official 4.0 is released are covered as usual.
-Lots of internal optimizations to individual
controls as well as increased enhancements of
the XP visual style engine. You should find
this alpha noticeably faster than WB 3.x. In
many cases, it should also seem faster/smoother
than the XP Luna style due to the new SmartPaint
features in WB.
-Console window skinning (though not scrollbars
at present, maybe in the future - XP and 2000 only).
This feature is off by default and needs to be
activated from the Advanced button under Appearance.
-Shellstyles support for Explorer folders on
Windows XP (see the included Beacon, Blackcomb, and
Colony skins or the Cartoon skin from the Toon-XP
premium suite). With the latest SkinStudio beta on
ODNT, skin authors have more options than ever before
to skin the task pane, the logoff dialogs, and more!
-Additional global font overrides for size and font.
-Option to only skin controls in themeaware apps
(essentially functioning like Luna).

Known issues
------------
-skindrag tool for per app skin selection no longer functions
-console windows can occasionally get ticked after
an unload and refuse to work until you reboot. This
is being looked into.
-No exclusion list is included with this build. If
you wind up having to add something back in, please
let us know what/why.
-the font dropdown in Appearance is not tied to
the new font options under Advanced.

What does all this mean? This was in history. Probably tooo much information!!!

I could have done without history, but.....for now forget about folders. By the verison in History you're missing about 4 updates. Go to SDC and uninstall BOTH wblinds app showing (use right click). Refresh app.data (available should be (1) 3.50 and the other(2) 3.99xxxx. Install 3.99 and leave 3.50 alone. After you reboot (it should prompt you) both apps. should be 3.99xxx and 3.50 should show as available. If that's what shows you should be good to go. Do not install 3.50.
