MikeB314's VOX cursor ripped !!

As the today's articel told me something about a linux site, I desided to take a look there. It had some cursor themes, and I was looking trough them, (Had a strange feeling about it )
I'm verry sure about this:

moshi...because sometimes I like to sleep.
Give me a chance, OK?

Perhaps I was just busy kicking the arse of a prat from the Mac end of the spectrum who has more rips than legitimate works on his site...even posting works by 'unknown'.

If this is a knee-jerk reaction to that, because you are so into Macs, bloddy well give it a rest.

As it is, I've managed 6 hours sleep in between exiling arseholes, chasing rippers on BOTH sides and actually doing my REAL WORK - Architecture.

One word..................patience.
'bloddy'....damn...no-one is gonna take my rant seriously now.... Spell checker
Reply #28 Top
i´m into Macs? how did you come to this conclusion? the first rip was from a Mac icon set, that´s true. the second and the third rip *NIX stuff, and the last one is ripping a design study.
Sorry....perhaps Mac, Linux, and styleXP [the origins of true ripping, that last one]...

OK, maybe I can catch up...

I've had so much pulled from ThemeXP of works ripped from here compared with the converse.....fortunately Greg is a 'good guy'.

You know, sometimes it does just get a little tiring and frustrating to feel like you are waging a one-man war against a world of warez rippers and petty thieves...not just recently, but way back when LS.net was the ONLY place to be, half a decade ago....there was me, helping keep the bastards honest.

moshi...translate all that and I'll look into the #23 one...as far as I can see so far, there is no indication of who did what to whom.

[As for #15....better links to deal with would be nice....having to surf through a site to find the info will prolong any process]

"you gonna keep that weight..." (Cowboy Bebop)

• Media & Internet Section...

understood, hehe

at ls.net it has worked i guess. won´t find much rips in LS world. only the occasional Treetog rip every now and then, but that get´s sorted easily. sometimes here at Wincustomize it seems to me that a few people cry "rip" a little too often without verification. maybe a new way to get attention. if MikeB would not have seen this thread early (if he would have been on a vacation) all hell would have broken loose ...

so i´m just pointing to a few rips here to show people that "evil" is not only outside. there are plenty more around. i know for example that Takashi Izawa until a few months ago did never want his work ported to Windows (talked to him personally). still there is a lot of his stuff here at WC, without any comments on the sets. i suppose those sets come from the old Stardock.com libraries.

ah well, guess i should move from "daily rip" to "weekly rip", ...

check the upload comment on the rip. jtfolden states that Frogboy showed him some screenshots and so he made the skin. so, first of all, not jtfoldens work. and not Frogboy´s either. you know the graphics skills of those coders. also check the dates. coditos! is from 2001, jtfoldens form 2002.

and the OS rip excuse is not valid here. it´s just a design study how his dream OS would look like.

for the translation: the most important is the first block on the site i sent you too.

in French:
Gonx :: faire un tour!

babelfish:
Gonx:: to make a turn! [ February at August 2001 ] perhaps I did not speak yet about it, but I like BeOS. However although its future more than is compromised in this moment, I had fun with relooker to even reconsider to the graphic interface user of BeOS. In fact that is well in the direction of the site, to propose - I say proposer/suggérer- well graphic ideas or concepts. Here are accessible some fakes (images resembling screen printings) for the illustration from * the project *.

i think babelfish works pretty good here, but i can do a cleanup if you need it.

best thing i found on BBC today:
The Americans shuffled with outraged incomprehension as the Brits howled with laughter at President Bush's verbal infelicities.
looked at the blocks you want me to translate: those are irrelevant, here codito! describes applications he would like in his dream OS. did not even need babelfish, had some Latin in school.
OK...#23 dealt with...removed for verification...
i can send you the originals for #23 if you want. as the originals are bigger in size than the rips but have full quality that should make it easier.
oops, for number 15 of course.

moshi...ya gotta remember that, by and large, Wincustomize.com has the best record for rip-policing of any public skinning/graphics site.
That is why you'll see a modern reluctance to accept Apple/Mac/Aqua copyright 'issues', forcing their makers to post them elsewhere...
One heck of a lot of works gets kicked even before posting...often requiring more tedious 'hunting' to work out why it looks so 'familiar'...

Sometimes I'd just wish Icons never existed.
I think they are like jokes....there are only really a handfull of genuinely different ones, all the others are just re-worded copies...

/me sits in the corner feeling miserable...
true, you are doing good work here on rips. the attitude of some members is a little strange though (at least for me). seems some participate in these "rip report" threads to be part of the in crowd. that´s why i said earlier in this thread as long as credits are given it´s better to contact the author first, before going public. the author may not even read this message board.

i agree on icons, back when icons were 32x32 pixel art the situation was better. now people slap all kinds of things on a tutorial globe and call themselves "artists" uke:

Example of what is/was involved with the BeOS one....

I open page to alleged 'rip'
I wait for it to load.
I open page to alleged 'original'
I wait for it to load.
I click on relevant 'original' image.
I wait for it to load.
I look at it.
I try to decypher relevant time-line and info.
Back to alleged 'rip'.
I click 'home', as page view gives me no access.
I wait for it to load.
I click on 'WindowBlinds' section.
I wait for it to load.
I click on 'admin control', type in 'BeOS', search by skinname.
I wait for it to load.
I find actual skin entry, and read description, etc.
I type in [private] comment, set access to 'private' and click submit.
I wait for it to load.

Then you can say it's begun to be dealt with....but imagine it on a dial-up.

Imagine it on every darn 'almost copy' of the same damn icon copied/used/originated from God-knows-where, but probably Win 3.11 or Calmira....

Did I mention I hate icons?....
hehe, Calmira. the best thing ever happened to Windows 3.x. came with Windows 95 default icons. their website is still up ...

Hey Jafo......you sure moshi just ain't your alter-ego making you look busy
Reply #44 Top
not at all. Jafo is at service all the time. i´m only involved in rip reporting when i´m grumpy.

Dark....no, he's just a fellow LiteSTEP nut....all the 'best people' are...
Dumb time....what is LiteStep? i never venture from the things i already know well
Reply #48 Top
LiteStep is a shell replacement. actually the most flexible and powerfull thing that can happen to your desktop.
pretty much a geek thing though (hardcore text editing and mathematical intelligence required). in the end it´s the same thing as with Linux. if you don´t know what you want to do with it you´re wasting your time. still the bleeding edge in many ways when it´s about desktop customizing.
not something i need then. Thanks.
Hey Jafo why if you have adsl do you wait for pages to load? I have a cable modem running at 1.5 Gigabytes per second. adsl should be that fast.
