GM, are you talking about california rolls?
and I'm sure if your parents knew they have a choice between an "A" or the life of their son they would choose you silly so you need to tell them how depressed they are making you okay (do that please)

I never got A's cuz I never seemed to be able to pay attention long enough to learn anything right but I got me a pretty good job that I like and pays my bills even though I messed up in school and you will too! everyone has a talent you're too young to know what it is yet, but if you stick around long enough you "WILL" find it so don't be a coward and ride those emotions out and find yourself don't worry about anyone else ppl around you don't know you, only you know you

Take care!

and girls I'm talking sushi not cucumber rolls! sushi like magura type stuff! sheesh! I need to teach you girls some stuff hehe

why oh why do they call California Rolls sushi when they do not have sushi all they have is cucumbers and avacado?
those are for fake sushi eaters I'm talking the real deal girls... hehe
and of course I don't know the name of this particular sushi I love but it has salmon and some strange shavings of some other kind of fish on top of it w/ sauce on it (but I don't know the name) argh!!!!!!
I will have to get back on this and also magura is good stuff (cuz it don't taste fishy even though it is fish)

Doreen, you don't have to teach me about Sushi! What you are referring to is "sashimi" -- raw fish (without rice) Sushi is a term used for rolls and ala cart pieces. There is a lot of sushi that is *not* raw fish. (the term sushi does not mean raw fish, it means "Cold cooked rice dressed with vinegar that is shaped into bite-sized pieces and topped with raw or cooked fish, or formed into a roll with fish, egg, or vegetables and wrapped in seaweed."

Well, the California roll I know is a sheet of toasted dried seaweed. Spread the rice on like you are going to make sushi, only on the diagonal, put the long spears of cucumber, crab or lobster, tomato, avocado and then partially roll it so it looks like a semi-cone. /me excuses herself to go to the deli now.....

California rolls have fish in them. They usually have crab meat in them.

I also really dig Miso soup, and I make it fresh at home, too
Reply #59 Top
nope ~
it does have rice (me hates Sashimi!) too fishy! yuk!!!

this thingy is sliced thin and on rice (just like typical sushi) and has some strange super super thin shavings of some kinda other fish (looks like see through stuffezz)
and some killer sauce and one bite and you hit the roof! really good... (but I don't know the name) hehe
prob could not spell it or say it anyways but next time I go I will write it down)

im 13 years old (good guess shmoops)

I am in 8th grade. The only class that really matters right now is algebra (it's a high school course so the colleges look at it)

Technically it doesnt matter if i get a c in every subject except for algebra. Except right now its the exact opposite......

Im getting straight A's in all subjects except algebra, which is the only one that matters. Ive gotten a c every quarter so far in algebra (we just finished our 2nd quarter) No matter what i cant pull this up to an A for the year average. This grade will get factored into my high school GPA and will be a serious detriment to any possibility of me going to an Ivy league college like my father.

... sometimes some classes have really tough teachers. You might try getting a tutor. Also talk to your teacher and explain your frustrations. In every school I have been in, the teachers really liked it a lot if you liked your courses enough and trusted them enough to open a dialogue. In fact, in every class you ever take, it pays to take some time during the semester to visit the teacher and let them see you as a person and not just a face. And, also, a lot of other things are considered in on college entrance matters.

"and will be a serious detriment to any possibility of me going to an Ivy league college like my father."

OMG, does that sound familiar

I don't know how to say this nicely, so please accept my apology if I offend.

You ARE NOT YOUR FATHER!!! When parents put this kind of pressure on a kid it can totally screw them up.

Please, MrGupps, be the person YOU want to be, not some fantasy of your parents. If YOU want to go to an Ivy league school, fine. If you don't....don't. It's not worth it. The toll to your sanity will be high.

I WANT to go to an Ivy league college. U know the kinda jobs u can get if u graduate from ivy league??
... pretty much the same kinds of good jobs you can get by graduating from other good schools! Even in getting a job, other things are considered than academic performance. Talk to your school guidance counselor so that you know the entire scope of options! One thing for sure, if you stress yourself out so much that you get sick ... that is not going to look good either. Talk to the guidance counselor and tell him/her EVERYTHING you told us.

This is the most embarassing piece of information i have ever shared with anyone.
