Wallpapers

I am disgusted from the way you have treated me. I have sent you 5-6 wallpapers (fairly good) and did not accept anyone. It is the last time I send you any wallpapers. >

That maybe so eddiex, but when one does make it, then you'll know you have really acomplished something. Don't give up now, study what is here and find how to do it differently. Remenber too, that a wallpaper on WC should have the ability to help enhance the 'Skins" that sit upon it.

...and since this is the only place on the internet to upload wallpapers, you have been shamelessly, criminally censored!

oh, wait, there are like a hundred other places to upload that don't moderate. You could even hang out your own shingle, and pay the cash for people to download from your own site...

Now you know why we don't send moderation e-mails anymore. these are the kind of replies we get, but usually littered with abuse and threats.
No one got moderated more than me when I first started, you just have to get over it, realise that you have to try harder, and not rely on the software to do all the creating for you.

eddieX: I personally didn't see your wallpapers, but there must have been a concensus among the other moderators, and they are all very experienced and take their work very seriously.
If you find it difficult to accept moderation, upload your work to one of the wallpaper sites that don't moderate submissions, but I can assure you, you will not get half the satisfaction as finally getting one of your images on to this site.

May put up a LARGE warning at the wallpaper uploads section letting them know that submissions are highly moderated. It seems that quite a few do not link and read the submission guidelines pages.

you know what I meant. Most don't surf to far away from where they are at. For instance when a simple search on google would answer a question for many.

That did seem kind of of redundant didn't it Jafo. In the dictionary under redundant does it say "see redundant"?

/me once lost her mind and submitted one. When the letter came ... Mike got a very sincere, grateful, relieved, and thankful letter for rejecting it!

I am still very glad!

Moderation is part of the game.....I seriously doubt that if people gave up so easily that WC would have been long gone. I get moderated about every 5 walls or so, which at first was at about every other wall which is a sign that I'm getting better (I hope). Just keep trying and like Boxxi said, the feeling of satisfaction once that first wall is accepted and just one person downloads it (more after that of course) but that first download, you'll feel great.

/ME goes to his My Skins section to see those walls post.....DARN IT, THEY DIDN'T MAKE IT......AGAIN >

Main thing to think abuot is when you make a wall...put it on your desktop and just look at it and think to yourself...would i download that if i saw it, does it work ok (icons etc are still readable), are there any faults you yourself can see and is the colour/contrast ok.......and after a few days look at it again and if you answer the same to that you did at the start then you could have a winner....but never assume it'll get accepted cause when/if it don't you just feel very let down and want to give up. Don't take anything to heart cause in the end we all go through it...many of us still are

Excellent advice Dark Mist, that is exactly what I do myself... I figure if I can live with it for a few days and still like it then it's worth submitting.....

Yeah Jam, in the end people want something long lasting, i myself don't like changes too much, my current wall i've had on my desktop for the last 8 months and still lovin it

I agree with most of the things that evryone has posted. But I guess as artists, we sometime get a little disapointed when we create a wall or a skin that we know for sure is gonna get accepted and then find out it was rejected. On the other hand we might create a wall or skin that we dont put much effort in and it gets accepted. --Go figure--
But overall, and just like G_A said it. The feeling an artist gets when one of his disign is accepted and people start to download and comment on it, it's very satisfactory.
Keep up the good work guys and dont give up.

Well said A_67, it is a paradox isn't it?
The irony of it all never ceases to amaze me, but we are all individuals and we each have individual taste.
Therein lies the enigma, I believe.

eddieX, I went to look at your rejected wallpapers.
So, take it or leave it, but the type of wallpaper you make almost has the "Made with Bryce" signature on it.
I suggest you learn some other graphics tool or learn to use Bryce a bit more creatively so it looks like you made it yourself not let a program make the wallpaper for you.
I suggest yo read the upload guidelines. There is a paragraph about wallpaper moderation. https://www.wincustomize.com/guidelines.asp

I have had many rejected, one accepted, then more rejected. I haven't done much lately though in the graphics. I'm slacking. I have ideas but I don't think much would make it as wallpapers on here. But who know's what will become of it. Once I get things situated I will attempt again. eddieX, Basically just keep trying. Push yourself further, spend more time on it, etc. Or if you can't get the walls, maybe move on to skinning something. Which is possible.
