I dont know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
Author: Albert Einstein

exactly...

so it will start anew.

See what I mean paxx about Good Vs. Evil? It doesn't matter what anyones opinion is, good will always be good and evil will always be evil. What humans think is good or evil is actually irrelavant.

What is ture that evil will self distuct itself and anything around it, whether it be a neccisary evil or not, so if WW3 starts and finishes with the end of quote cicilization a more 'innoccent' time of stones and rocks and a chance not to repeat the same mistakes.

Humanity starts over and possibly on a better track... why, because of todays events.

I'm very curious; paxx, bakerstreet, @shu, GA, and others, where do yuo get your news from??

Xerraire , I was not ignoring you, did some things around the house because I was actually feeling pretty good and over did it. Ended up wishing for a new body or at least new head so I downed some trazdone and zonked all night and off and on throughout today.

The question of where the comment about contempt came about and not knowing you? It wasn't directed at you but your post, by definition contempt seemed to fit very well...

contempt, (n); scorn, disdain,
not in the sense that it is applied in the case of (law; disrespect)...

The ending comment about " *my wisdom* " taken with your responsive post in whole led me to infer contempt, I do apologize for jumping to conclusions and making the comment with only your post and the words used as a means to make assumptions? / presumptions?, making such a comment was wrong, and I was wrong.

For the moment I will go over my post you questioned and clear it up with being specific about what was meant by it line by line...

I will answer each of your questions in your post for sure tonight, it might take a bit though, this post alone took me around three hours off and on because of starting and stopping. I've still got a skull pealing headache feeling like someone has sunk their fingers under my skull at the base where my spin ties into it and is attempting to pull it up and over forwards... ugh...

You know, thinking about it, it might sound very stupid and extremely simplistic but...
(speaking of MY thoughts nothing else as being simplistic here)

If the governments of the world worked together and dealt with each others on the basis of a desired relationship, one they want to work, a partnership such as a marriage for example, things might have a better chance of working...

( A " partnership " example " marriage " as it means to me, not a paper and ring, not statistics of failures from people who play at marriage, because in my opinion if both parties are in fact partners in a marriage and one or both are not playing at it, it is not going to fail because it can not fail, they will not allow it to fail, again MY thoughts on that topic )

Also this notion that the USA can make it in a world of people all on it's own is rather ridiculous because of the fact that at some point in time it would have to reach beyond it's borders only to find, what?

( I've thought about this option quiet a bit actually and can see where it would work for a while, but in time it would eventually hit a point where we would have to reach outside our borders. As I posed the question, what would we find that others, from outside the USA, would see when they looked at us at that point?)

No one wants anything to do with it and then what?

( Would they want anything to do with the USA at such a point in time after we had in fact turned the world off? After all the confusion it would cause around the world? With ever failure being thrown at our feet over time? The Global economy would do one of two things, it would either crash totally and recover, or it would falter and then recover, but in either instance what ever loss that came would be placed directly at our feet as a nation, hell it is already for the most part )

Or maybe it would be seen as Russia after it fell apart, as a land ripe for cheap labor, open market, industrial expansion, religious expansion, a financial yoke?

(pretty much self explanatory)

This is not a US issue either, all governments do it, money makes the world go round, Russia selling Iraq bio/chem suits and such, Syria providing night vision equipment, France selling weapons, China silk worm cruise missiles, it's a time for profit, and has been for the last 20 years in Iraq, including US corporate profit, all of our nations have had a hand in it, either openly or behind closed doors...

( self explanatory, meant to point out my feeling that this is in fact not a US issue, but a global issue to all those who would in turn attempt to state that it is a US issue as if their respective nation is some how clean of such a dirty process)

Finger pointing is pointless, want it fixed, work on fixing it at home first and turn the finger to your won capitols. Blaming past leaders is a pointless act also, when the present ones do nothing but perpetuate the process left from before them.

(This is about the action of the blame game and are thoughts revolving around everyone, USA included, and each and every other nation and people of those respective nations, finger pointing is crap and doesn't do a thing to change anything. Government officials in every nation are more than ready to make claims of the good of previous leaders and point fingers of contempt(disdain) at the failures while making the claim it was the other party, yada yada ya... well guess what, it was the government, the same exact government that they are now a part of, if they were not already a part of it when the bad crap took place. Finger pointing doesn't do squat to change anything, just like statements of taking and accepting responsibility do nothing, action is the proof, nothing less than action. That goes for the people also, everyone screaming and shouting about the USA being in Iraq should be asking themselves why the USA in the end felt it had to act like it did? The British and Australians thought this over and made their choice as did the Americans, the UN did not act upon it's own words that it put on paper, Saddam/Iraq had to disarm and prove that it did in fact destroy all WMD's and also those conventional missiles and such that could reach farther than UN set limits. The people need to ask why the UN did not act until the USA pushed them and then they had to go back in with inspectors and such, ok, the US, Aussies and Brits sat back and waited, time ran out, Saddam was busy doing what he wanted and playing his games, they wanted to allow him to play some more and we decided enough was enough, the UN seems to fall short when it comes to the dirty work in my opinion, it does serve a very good purpose on many levels and issues, but not on the ones revolving around enforcing it's own resolutions... that is painfully obvious, and why are those people not demanding to be told why? )

Does anyone know of the one government on this planet that is actually new, with fresh ideas and is not just a clone of those who came before them, that were not trimmed and formed by the old order of politico's meant to carry on the torch even if it is wrapped in different wrapping paper and covered in brand new shinny labels, in each respective nation?
( it is a stone bold fact... I would love someone to show me different I really would, because it is the governments of this world that have given us the good and the very dirty bad we have today, and they sure do not seem to be able to figure out how to go about changing things to diminish the bad, or even finding them, that or they do not care, I am not sure which would be worse. )

Not one...
( anyone? one new progressive government?)

None unless you go to the balk lands, and there is no telling what is going to come out of them as leadership. Though everyone is attempting to influence it, that is for sure.

( There are new governments being built there, but they are really questionable considering everything that has been going on there over the last 10 years. There is a lot of outside governments attempting to influence these developing governments, only the future will tell if it is for good or bad, odd that, having to wait, personally I feel the UN should have an active roll in such situations as a body of people who can help guide, not instruction or dictate, but point out historical facts in the hopes that negative things are not repeated. )

Hey want something to fight a war about, something really evil?
( for all those who seem to hold such contempt for the Brits, Aussie and USA specifically, as if things in Iraq are not bad enough. Well the following should be more than enough, if killing your own people isn't enough then maybe raping children and forcing them into sexual slavery to internet porn sites and video feeds and such might be enough for them....)

What about the forced prostitution, murder, rape and kidnapping of children starting at the age of 10 (sometimes younger) on up to adult women, who are forced into the ever growing and expanding sex industry in those same new Balk Land nations. Not all of them, but there is a network that spans all of them, they take these young children and women and forced them into online sex shows, toys ot animals and back again, they use them up, and in some instances kill them, or in others sell them to the highest bidder...

Who's fighting a war to stop this evil?
( who is fighting this? This is a question for EVERYONE who wants to throw moral stances around as a means to justify any action or non action by their respective government. Who is going to these places and telling them enough is enough and if you will not do anything about it we are, starting right now and right here?

Where are the moral champions of the World, UN seems to be full of them or so many think?

Eddie Izzard has this bit about history... Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, he states Hitler messed up because he didn't find killing his own people to be enough, he had to go start killing people outside his country, silly man... It's the freaking truth, sad to say, seems people of the world, morals and all mentally puke at the thought of doing anything about anyone killing their own people until such time as they start killing them on the other side of some invisible human created line. The first Gulf war pretty much proves that point for one example, look at the UN's reaction and actions, they and their people were all for it. Seems lines on a map or on a globe pretty much make all the difference.)

Where is the UN and it's forces?

Where is the moral USA ready to remove the scourges of the world? maybe in time? but I bet everyone would scream and cry about it, even when no ne else does a damn thing to stop it, it would be the mean old evil USA out doing it's War mongering thing again...
(This is for the US, and I will stand behind it, why are we not doing anything in any of the other places on this planet where evil prevails? We can not make use of Moral Right to justify actions on a selective basis or it totally knocks an moral stance out from under us... doesn't it? I mean selective morals and nothing less than subjective morals applied only as a means of justification, nothing more, which to me seems rather lacking on a moral level.

It smacks of a double standard for moral application.

Main Entry:1mor*al
Pronunciation:*m*r-*l
Function:adjective

1 : of or relating to principles of right and wrong
2 : conforming to a standard of right behavior; also : capable of right and wrong action
3 : probable but not proved *a moral certainty*
4 : having the effects of such on the mind, confidence, or will *a moral victory*
Synonyms virtuous, righteous, noble, ethical, principled
–mor*al*ly adverb

We are in Iraq to remove ensure the complete and total destruction of WMD's, also the death of Saddam.
We are on a side note going to end up with the value added feature of freeing the people of Iraq even if all of them do not care to be free, or at least have the USA connected with any form of freedom.
sorry but it is how I see if all)

What ever happen to Somalia?

(What did happen to Somalia? We went there, we attempted to pass out food and such, ended up taking all the weapons cache of the strongest war lord, gave those same exact weapons back, then turned around and went to arrest him and ended up in a fire fight we were not anywhere ready for, lost some solders, packed up and left. Where was the conviction to stand behind the right, the morals to do the job until it was completed?

How come the UN didn't take the lead there and everyone have troops in the number it would take to ensure total disarmament, and that people would get the food and such, where was the UN to help rebuild the nation?)

What about the oppression in the South Americas?
( We've spent many years there supporting nasty dirty regimes, removing them instead of funding them even if they do play ball they way we want, might be a change for the good. Probably one of the best places to start as far as taking on the bad and opening up for good to take root and flourish.

But then again, where is the UN? If the world doesn't want the US acting alone then the world best get off it's collective ass and do something first.)

What about the West Bank and Gaza?
(Where is the UN? There are resolutions against everyone involved in the region, why hasn't the UN done anything? Is it because of the USA? If so then whats up with the USA getting in the way of the UN backing it's resolutions as it should in all instances? If not, then why hasn't the UN done anything, why have they not entered the region and put a stop to the killing from all sides? Oh thats right, its hard and dirty and nasty and takes some real hard choices and actions to back up their words they put on paper. Why is it that all these people around the world are not making demands of their leaders to do something, anything to end the killing there?)

How come at this day and age children starve when unknown tons upon tons of food stuffs are thrown away every year and are seen as an acceptable tax write off?
(This isn't just the USA, others throw food away without any real concern other than what money might be lost. How come in this day and age of excess, are children starving?)

Why is AID's still a killer of millions when we can shoot missile out of the sky? Fire sound weapons that stop a person in their tracks doubling them up puking all over themselves in the name of using non-lethal weapons?
( why? simple question, though not a simple answer I am sure, but all the same, why? anyone know?
I mean really honestly know?)

How come cancer stills kills and how come emClone which had the closest thing to a cure for cancer was shut down instead of funded?
( again Why?)

Why is it that Stardock hasn't given everyone a full blown copy of GalCiv for our complete devotion
sorry about that one but it really was the point of this post ...
wouldn't matter, I'd only end up being like like John Candy in Canadian Bacon...
(just joking around here, which should be obvious)

Like I said before, sorry about jumping to conclusions...

I go through your post through the night and post when finished...

oh wait, according to the administration this is not a war but a operation.

so war codes do not need to be adhered to... Because he did not declare war against Iraq. Or vise vera.

I never understood the idea of 'operation'. Especailly when it is this large.

IP, do you really expect any sane person to read a post of the length you just made?
I read about a third of it, started scrolling down, said something I won't repeat here, and moved on...
At least try to break it up into manageable chunks would you?

pretty much..

I need to read and re read things before I allow anyone to click submit, too much gets left out of the mix, which is exactly the reason I stated for avoiding posting in one post to Karmagirl. It all gets disconjoined to the point of mindless rambling. you should see some of the looks I get when my wife and I are at a friends, they will ask a question and three of us/me will answer and they end up looking at my wife and she translates...

Some are quiet blood thirsty, other squiemish, others almost mindless and others think way to much and read even more...

gets kind of screwy when it comes out sometimes...

Paxx: Evil men are relying upon folks of your ethos. I like ya, you know that, but I wouldn't want to be the one that the republican guard is making propaganda for when they use women and children as human shields and then call Al-Jazeera to film the 'civilian casualites'.

You like to think you are against this because of *why* the US is doing it, but will you better Iraq by stopping it? You think? And once this is over, will you go on and rail against the Russians, the Israelis, or the Chinese, or will you just happily ignore the international news until another US conflict? Peace paxx? Really? Is that what this is really about?

****************

The Iraqis' nazi tactics haven't just been practiced against US troops. There are at least 16 reporters missing, some taken by the Iraqi 'Intelligence' service. Among them is Molly Bingham, a freelance photographer who served as Al Gore's official photographer, who was taken at night from her hotel room in Baghdad.

What do you suppose they have to fear from reporters? What does the Iraqi Intelligence service do to people they secretly take in the night?

Listen, I just don't buy propaganda, wether it's coming from Washington or Bagdad. Both CNN (and the likes) and Al Jazira (and the likes) are heavily stuffed with nationalist propaganda.
So, what part of what I say sounds like I'm pro Saddam?
Which part of what I said made JM ask me if I listen to Iraki propaganda (the answer is no, the same answer for if I listened to American propaganda).

So, really, what I said above is based on facts, not inventions.
I watch mainly both French and English CBC. I think they are doing a fantastic job covering this in a very journalistic neutral perspective.
paxx: JM said that because your posts read just like Iraqi Information Ministry press conferences. "The Iraqi people don't want to be liberated; thousands of Pro-Saddam freedom fighters will mire the US in a bloody war, other Arab states will swoop in to the rescue. Iraq doesn't torture or execute POWs, etc., etc." No offense intended, but that is their whole dishonest message.

"So, what part of what I say sounds like I'm pro Saddam?"

If Saddam Hussein's goal is to stay in power, and it is your wish that we go home and leave him in power... what part *isn't* pro-Saddam? Anti-war Europe already has the deals in place to send him billions of dollars in oil deals and military aid the moment the sanctions are lifted. Will he just get bored and retire?

I don't think you believe you are pro-Saddam, but all he needs to do is stay in power, and you refuse to accept the validity of removing him. Unless you can, of course, find a way to remove him without force. So far I haven't heard any suggestions on that point. Voodoo Dolls?
Paxxy, it's easy. Your not being in favour of this war makes you pro Saddam in black/white land.

The reasoning is like this:
1. Saddam Hussein is evil
2. We are doing something about it
3. Not agreeing with that won't help us get rid of him
4. So therefore you support him

Oh and I am not to sure about the 'welcoming commitee' in Iraq either, but I here many news reports on allot of Iraqies welcoming them. Others are not sure. Saddam is the type to send people to make sure they don't welcome them so I would not put it past he.

We will see.

Week 3 starts on Thursday. I believe I will ahve most of my answers dueing week 3 of this conflict.

I also had an idea about the civilians and if there are people threating them and using them as shields. If the army gives them a beeper or something to call them if something is happening they can catch those in the act. Maybe the news crew will be with them?
