the top edge appears to be cut abruptly... by about 5 pixels maybe less... unless of coarse this is all for not because the author of the theme intended it to be that way... hmmmmm

Static, nah I've even tried it with no Blinds and just the classic windows as a desktop but it's no different....*sigh* oh well thanks so very much for all your help and ideas guys,I think this is one problem I'll just have to put up with.

Have you run a scan disc, disc clean-up, and defrag? What did you do/download right before this first happened. How about a sys restore?

Also, I am running a program that auto hides the toolbar until my mouse approaches it... do you have one of those... (my ie2) also, did you fiddle with object bar settings recently?

ok good just for you I won't. .......It's a High-Grade, pentium 3, 666MHz, 128MB RAM, You may have not heard of them it's an English company as I'm from England. OoOo just thought. maybe it's doomed with it being 666MHz!

Actually I may mention here that as part of Icon Packager there is something called Icon Packager Explorer, I've not touched this as I do not know what it's for, just thought I'd mention that, and yes I'll run a SFC, but like I say my OS in only a week old

My friend did my format for me, so I really couldn't say but I know he put a disk in and made the partion NTFS or something?

I don't know much about partitions, but if something was defective and then the partition dated from that AND if coincidentally you deinstalled some program like hotbar that corrupted a windows file and that carried over into your partition... ...maybe ask your friend?

Yes, I've asked him about it and he says his XP and his g/f's is the same as mine and cuts a few pixels off the top so....I think it's stalemate and I'll just have to put up with it lol, nevermind, thank you so very much for all your time and patience, it's very much appreciated.

First thing to 'test' is to open a window that is clearly not maximized...one you CAN see all 4 borders of, then max it and see if it also goes off the screen.
If it does I'd be looking at the physical monitor settings first....to be sure you are not oversized beyond the viewable display area...
