Blondie, is it only Explorer or is EVRY window you maximize gets the titlebar cut off too?
If it does it for everything, I strongly suggest you check your monitor setting. You know how? Those bottom at the bottom of your monitor, under the screen. Problem is all the monitors work differently. I think maybe you have two buttons, one that says [1] and one that says [2]? And then arrows? Or plus and minus?
It can be tricky to figure out.
Just let us know if you can't figure those buttons out.

I tried that Static, no luck, when it is in small mode (restore) I see all the I.E, border and all but when maximized the border round the top of I.E disappears.

It's every window I open Paxx. I will try my monitor settings as you suggest and let you know how I get on.
Thank you all so very very much for going to all this trouble for me. I really do appreciate it.

Here is something to try. Alternate click on your toolbar and select unlock. Then hold your curser over the green help spot until it changes shape. Click down and hold it and then drag that toolbar up, or over and see if more items show up. I wish I had a screen shot with the scroll bar at the top.

does windowblinds control the screen area used? My experience in litestep tells me that you can adjust the area used as the "desktop" I do not know if a negative value is possible but could the uis of a windowblind skin change the window/desktop area?

Blondie66 unload windowblinds completely and reboot without reloading any skins. is it still an issue?

um.... every spot there is a down arrow, see if the arros change shape. If they do, you can stretch the toolbar there too. Afterwords, lock the toolbar when you have it like you like it. But remember, seemingly at a wim, these change.

For instance.... over by the norton antivirus is a down arrow.... what is that showig when you click on it?

Might also be a simple fix like resizing the window and then closing to set as the size for the next window.

Don't know where that setting is but it is out there somewhere.

Another possibility is that the monitor needs adjusting. Factory settings are not really that great. At least from Gateway

set your reolustion down to a lower size and see if it puts things back in order for you and then if it does, set it back higher...

just a thought...

I did try setting WindowsFX beyond the display regions on my system and it refused to do it, so it probably isn't WFX at least if you have that installed and running.

I've tried everything guys, sorry I took so long to reply but a friend was having a look at it for me, but to no avail...he says I'm missing some pixels at the top ans his pc his the same? Could this be the norm for XP? I wouldn't know as I've only had XP for a week after using 98 for 3 years.

oh heck.... set your monitor display regions with the buttons on the front of the monitor...

the Video card driver, XP Display settings and Monitor Screen Size settings are out of wack...

I don't think that the monitor visual settings will affect the screen shot... you could set the verticle halfway off the screen and the screen shot would still look normal or not normal in Blondie66's case...

there should be a set of buttons and one will popup a litte menu on your display that has nothing to do with windows....

there will be two key options to look for, both rectangles, one with a double headed arrow laying horazontal and the other will be vertical in the second one.

you move the highlight with one of the buttons so one of those is brighter than the rest and push select, and then you can use a button to grow or shrink it, shrink it and do the same to the other...

then exist when you see your Windows XP fits inside your display

you can wrap your screen shot half way around the back of the tube visually with those ettings...

IPlural goodmorphing put up a screen shot of it... @ #30

no matter what adjustments she makes on her monitor it can not fix her issue... is has to be software or driver.

just another possibility... if her refresh rate is set to high at the psychal tube zoom settings it will expand the whole screen beyond the normal visual display, even if only by a few pixels, if not inchs... or even shift it one direction or another, cause it to pin-cusion, tilt...

if nothing else works it is worth an attempt....

Pardon me for being ignorant, but what's wrong with the screen shot? It looks normal to me.

It's exactly the same on my friends pc so maybe it's normal it's just that the screenshot of it shows the top of my window yet on my screen I can't see it? Strange huh? I think it may be as Static says and is a /driver/softwear problem.
