AOL search

AOL search

When I put words in aol search windows I get a busy or broken server message.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Searching in internet explorer still works and I tried google and that worked.
This is the second day I noticed this one aol.
Does anyone know what the deal is? Please if you know let me know.

what version of AOL do you use? Personally I think 8.0 has some bugs. 6.0 was the last AOL that worked great.

I started out using 7 and now I've been using 8.0 for a while with pretty good success.
It just has an occasional glitch here and there.

Does AOL have any patches for 8.0? That might help you out a little.

I've switched from AOL to Earthlink.

My free AOL runs out on the 5th of March.

I already notice my Skinbrowser opens and logs in instantly, whereas with AOL, I never knew when it would if it would.

Microsoft Internet Explorer no longer has all the crazy text junk it recently began showing, and none so far with other web sites.

So I think AOL has some issues to resolve as well as it's porn ties.

Goodbye AOL, I can't say it was fun, but it WAS cheap for 45 days.

Can you believe it?

All the problems I was having and thinking it was my computer turns out to have been from AOL, or maybe the isp's they were using (??).

This is like a dream come true, and would be if I could pop for DSL.

Now all I have to do is cancel my subscription with AOL, Monday.

YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS,

I called AOL about an hour ago to cancel my free 1000hr/45day Unlimited Sevice,(which runs out in three days) as I have already now subscribed to Earthlink. And during the course of our conversation, I mentioned how I was disapointed with their ties to pornography through Time Warner and the higher prices.

At first, the Representative at AOL told me how much they are distancing themselves from that dark cloud and then went on to explain the virtues of the NEW AOL.

I agreed by saying I did like the service they provide, but not the cloud that comes with it.

He thanked me for being honest and then gave me two Service Awards which amount to two aditional free months of Unlimited Service to compare with, hoping I will choose AOL by then.

Who knows, if Earthlink gives me a lot of trouble things such as spam, ect, maybe I will.

But now I have two online services to play with.

I can haunt WC twice as much

jake, they always give you free time trying to keep you there...
when I quit AOL, I almost had to threaten them... they just kept offering me more free months and I
REALLY had to put my foot down to get them to cancel the account.
They'll give you free time forever if you keep calling to cancel.

UhOh, you mean I was played?

Is this a bad thing JamM?

I wish I knew this beforehand

All I'm saying is that they will keep on offering you free months trying to keep you there...
Calling it 'service awards' is a new twist.....
They will go to any length to keep you from quitting.
When I quit, it was like pulling my own teeth out with a rusty pair of pliers.

However, having those two free months to play with can't be a bad thing, so I wouldn't worry about
being played... I'm just saying that the next time you call to cancel they will offer you yet more
free time...

Thanks JamM, I will certainly remember next time I call,-like pulling teeth huh?.

Yet for every minute I am using AOL, I am paying for Earthlink, well, not me, my brother as a thank-you for rebuilding a computer for him.

Still, I feel a little foolish, AOL Rep was a smooth talker, I should have known.

DANG!

They told me on the phone Ulimited Service, but looking at the Awards, it says BASIC!

That's it, I back on the phone tonight.

DARN! >

AOL IS GONE! - from my computer.

Took nearly 20 minutes of waiting on the phone to get through. All I had to say was, "I've been through this a little over an hour ago, Cancel my subscription now please". But Sir, they replied, what is wrong, can we--. "NOW Please" I said.

"Yes sir" they replied, "here is your confirmation number, you still have 30 days"....
