Space.... and people on Mars

I always though having a Moon station was dangerous considering that space objects hit the Moon all the time. I do think a space station would be more productive. On the moon there could be a away station for emergencies and safe harbor from space showers or a ship needing help.

A Mars station seems to me a great focus for NASA. There could be a colony there and be relatively safe. 3 stations between Mars and Earth would be safe.

Instead of a space shuttle, there would be a focus on a space plane that takes off like a plane and coasts up to space and changes to rocket or other propulsion power.

I think many things should be solved here on Earth though, but by 2200 space travel should really start and hopefully we as a human race would have reached maturity in some way.

So as far as my schedule for space travel, I think we should focus on a new shuttle program and new propulsion systems. Inter-planetary travel is the new focus. Away stations, new experiments and space on the human condition will also be priorities.

I love space and space travel. Not sure if we as humans deserve to explore that yet without owning up to problems on Earth and a habit to destroy stuff.

What does the message board say of this?

As the president of the UN my focus will be on free education, shelter and food for all human kind. Period. But somewhere in my mind I would hope we could do a community space endevor and go to Mars.

I'm all for the Space Program and further exploring. If I could, I would go and live up in space. But my thought is that we should put a station on the moon first, they already found a source of some water which when heated would also produce oxygen. That could be like a place where they could rest then go to Mars from there. So it would be a shorter distance. and they could use the moon as a sling shot like they do anyhow. But the idea of several stations on the way to mars would be interesting and smart also. Man-Kind I believe was givin the ability to break certain laws for a reason. So, why not go with it and expand what we can do and were we are.

There is no such thing as free...Everything has an economic cost and if "everyone got this stuff for free" who would work to pay for it?

well... not free. CUNY College was free (New York City) for many year until the budget crunch of NYC in 1970's

City College also known as The Free Academy has produced many honored people including Colin Powell.

Some classmates of mine years ago went for "free" because of federal aid (of which comes from taxes)

So I don't mean free as in "here you can have this". The cost will be paid in full.

You want food? Done. You want education? Done. You want shelter? Done.

That will be my mission. everything comes second after that... and the Mars mission.

Paid in full... by your tax dollars of course.

The Universe as a whole interests me too although I'm not into it like my brother.

One thing I like to think about is time travel.

I like to believe the theory about the Multiverse the most. You would exist in these other Universes but no paradox would occur. You would affect this Universe and not have any affect on your own. How to get back to your own is another story.

Thoughts?

Sorry to go off topic.

"Paid in full... by your tax dollars of course."

Well, before I start ranting on that subject, I think I'll just go to bed.

Goodnight all and have a great tomorrow.

Oh and I thought of having 3 away stations heading toward Mars because people like to feel comforted. The Parthenon did not need those thick columns; it just made people feel better about going inside of it... and it looked more powerful.

3 stations also increase safety. Having a Moon station to me seems risky because of the Moon seems to be a target for space objects and junk. Nevertheless, a Moon staion would be helpful for spaller trips and a refueling port. It also could help in tracking objects in the solar system... mostly a research station.

I have a plan for the "free" education, food, and shelter but most of the details have not been worked out yet. It has been a focus of my life since I was 12 or 13 (other than Architecture of which started when I was 5).

I figured I start with "3rd world contries" and work my way to all people.

Al Julez: Study some Quantum Physics if you never have - especially the Many Worlds Interpretation.

whats wrong with "paid by your tax dollars"?

guess I'll have to wait until tommorow for that one

Multi Universe?? I think that exists and in some form one universe can generate others as time lines. If a decision is made out of.. say 10,000,000 choices, what happens to the other options? Those options form new time lines of which are carried out.

Just a theory that I never proved.

Oh I know of the Many Worlds Interpretation kthxbye but I can't say I've really studied Quantum Physics like that.

But that's like saying I could hit you, smack you or do nothing. Whose to say all three don't happen? In three different Universes.

An interpretation would be the Universe splits into infinitely many copies of itself, variations on a basic theme, in which all possible outcomes of all possible "experiments" must happen somewhere in the "multiverse".

Indeed very interesting.

Sounds like the movie "The One" Good movie too.

Time Travel, I have a feeling that you could cause a paradox in that point.

How about this Weaksid

"For the Circular Theory, this can be caused for instance, if you were to travel back in time, did something to kill your great grandfather, thus you would have never been born, thus you would have never time traveled back in time to kill your great grandfather in the first place but you did travel in time, so you did not kill your great grandfather, so he lived so the action you took did not kill your grandfather... Add infinity."

Here's another theory I like to believe

Theory D - Observer Effect - Travel back in time to alter history and succeed, but the only persons capable of differentiating between the reality left behind and the new reality are those directly associated with the time travel... the time traveller. The extent of the paradox rests in how the time traveller is affected. Existing "out of time", he may not be affected by whatever changes he inflicts on the timeline, thus the time traveller himself becomes a stranger in this "new" present. He may, in fact, go back in time, kill his great-grandfather, and return to the present to discover that there are no records of his own existance.

Interesting...

Al, you think way too much into this. Second theory would prove multi Universe then. Because time would create a new branch of events, which would allow you to still be, but not everything you knew.

And of course the first one would of already happened due to the fact that time is already done. We are just in this moment that we are understanding. Which repersents that each milisecond frame the actions are still going on forever. So, there wouldn't be a reason to make a device if the first one is true. But if you did, you will still. NOw I'm starting to explain it like you did and there is no end to it............

The second theory sortof goes around the movie "Time Machine" which the whole plot was that you can't change fate. If somebody is going to die, then they will no matter what you do. But going into the future with it like the movie would be more logical. To come back would be your choice. And if you decide to go back, I say just to study the stuff and not mess with it. But they have a theory if you step on a bug back then, you could still change everything. Many theories which I believe that won't even have a chance to be proven wrong or right. Space Travel is more likely.

I've been asked this question. What is more likely.. Star Trek or X Files? I said X-Files because why not? Star Trek is still a little ways off.

Strapping an explosive device on your arse and being shot into space is in my opinion for the Flintstone's mentality.

There has been great progress made in teleportation and that should be the method of space travel but lo and behold it doesn't support the greedy so won't ever be considered.

there has been great progress in teleportation? I never heard of that.

I think the person who goes back in time to kill his parents will likely come back to the future and find he does not exist in the new universe he created. Also keep in mind that there might be 10,000,000 outcomes of an action but not 10,000,001. It might be totally impossible for him to kill his parents because of all the choices that is not available at the time. So he might find that 'miricals" will keep them alive.

I guess also what could happen if he can kill his parents is that he would slowly disapper as the "wave" of time makes its march toward his present.

He also could destroy space and time by doing this and therefor ending all excistance.

I was just reading a Daily News artical that talk about travel to Mars as a better goal for Nasa. It has been 34 years since the Moon walk and all we been doing is shuttling satelites to space. We should want more out of our space program.

Exactly.

Ms. Delicious but light photons do not make psychical matter as easy to teleport. and It wasn't so much teleportation into space that is at the nexus of that specific issue, yet, or the quantum physics involved, rather it is Faster than light communications.

Australian teleport breakthrough
"
Scientists at the Australian National University (ANU) made a beam of light disappear in one place and reappear in another a short distance away.

not yet anyway, but if the world put half ot what it puts into better ways to kill other human beings, it could be reality in geological nano seconds, historical years...

Actually this isn't the first to have success, Cal Tech has some two years ago when they split a light photon and transported half across a dark chamber and into a box and noticed during the experiment, if you move half in one direction the other half mimics it as if still connected....

Hence the application for telecommunications, 0 / 1, on - off which if basically what all data communications boil down to at their base.

Weakside, fantastic flick

did you know that the Air-force and NASA proved Einstein correct about traveling faster than the speed of light and aging.

The put a clock in an x15 synchronized with another clock on the ground, tracked the x15 with a lazier and there was a matter of ,00000034 seconds out of Scranton aft34 the test.

sooooo.... I was thinking that if space travel has more of a direction maybe we would get more out of it. From what I read we really have not had a real mission or for that matter a grand idea for some time. Colonization of another planet seems cool (after we fix some problems here of course)

Space travel might find us finding out more about the diseases on Earth or bring about more technology.

Oh and Terminator 3 is coming out this summer and has to do with time travel. I thought to myself, "Why are the robots trying to kill this guy again especailly since it would only be a matter of time before they would win in the future?"

Why take a risk and go bak in time to kill someone and end up never existing yourself? Or better yet, by killing him enables a stronger leader to take his place and quicken your own demise?

So they kill the boy... and someone becomes a better leader in his place. Or better yet the boy meets someone who he would have taken under his wing but instead this person goes a different route and somehow ends the progect that started the androids in the first place?
