...But looking at scorecards on the cricket world cup web site is like reading chineese

99% of the world feel the same about baseball scorecards Like anything, it's easy when it's your sport.

What is more baffling is how teams like Kenya can enter the final stages with 10pts when several of the top teams are out Results spoiled by not having rain days in an obvious rainy season, and also teams handed a spot purely on politics, day/night games where the team batting second hasn't a chance etc, have soured the World Cup. The best team will probably win anyway, but the whole thing has still lost credibility. Shame.

Maybe it has, Fuzzy Logic. But in this age, politics IS a part of everything and DOES affect day to day life. How can a game (cricket) be an exception?

Did you know that India played Pakistan after THREE years? Would you believe that neighbours (we share a common border) don't send their teams across to the other side to play in a game? But cricket is a game that arouses such intense passions in the subcontinent, that any action on/off the cricketing field is a statement. Similarly, England and New Zealand made statements by not playing in Zimbabwe and Kenya respectively and paid for it.. It might not be fair, but then is life?

Nope, was sleeping. But India won, albeit unconvincingly

Take on PooPs, not take over..

Though I think we could do that too, if the powers that be don't intervene..

Why would you want to take over that flea bitten dust bowl? Took us years to get rid of the place

Not that we would wanna do that, except of course if you have weapons of mass destruction that can harm us or if you have a dictator on the top or if you have a large reserve of oil.

U don't have any of that, do u?

/me apologises in advance to anybody hurt by the above statement. It is based entirely on fiction and resemblance to any person/nation living or dead is purely coincidental.

Don't know if Oz has any weapons of mass destruction. They have Kylie Minogue - does that count?

Don't you just hate it when a cricket takes up residence in your bedroom and tries to serenade you all night long?
No Fuzzy. I think Kylie doesn't count. Perhaps Britney.. Nay. She's a dud

As in response to jake11's statement, I'd like to say that we here are not talking about the insect, but the game. And the game has taken over an entire nation of a billion souls by storm. Today, there is no greater uniter and no greater divider than the game of cricket in the Indian subcontinent. It could well take the place of ping-pong and change the face of the world... (replace ping-pong diplomacy by cricket diplomacy between India and Pakistan).

Watch it, Fuzzy....don't forget I'm from Oz...
Some of the prettiest women come from Oz....Kylie and Nicole to name but two...
As for WMDs.....we have Rolf Harris.
Be afraid....be VERY afraid....

I'm assuming we play India tonight.....been out of it a bit with all these cars running around....but it's a fair assumption we'll come out on top yet again...

I must disagree about Kylie, I thinks she's a hideous dwarf - you have better looking sheep

ROLF! You...you...wouldn't...would you? No! Not the paint brush...Aaaaaaggghhh!!! /me runs for cover

Sorry, Fuzzy....as someone who has met her in 'the flesh' you couldn't be more wrong.
Similarly with Elle Mcpherson [someone else I've met....the perks of GrandPrix]...they are even cuter in 'Real Life'[tm]...

Enough of Kylie!!!! This is a cricket thread, in the sense of the game, not the insect..

BTW, what do u mean by 'in the flesh' Jafo?
PooPs, India did real well in all departments. By all calculations, it should be an India Vs Australia final and a real see-saw by the looks of it.

Sachin's gonna be hungry, missed out on 2 centuries in 3 matches. Sehwag's got a point to prove. Ganguly has struck some kind of form. Yuvraj has a knack of finishing in style. Dravid's the Wall, as usual. Hell, evn the Sardar fancies himself to hit a six or two. Its gonna be fun n I hope India come out tops.

/me crosses his fingers, toes, hands, legs and anything else he can cross cause he is going against the flow here...

@shu....'in the flesh'....'in real life - face to face'...
I know the meaning, Jafo.. I was looking for a naughty interpretation, if you know what I mean..
@shu....at the time it was a 'wrap party' for a TV series she was doing....and at the time she was not 'street-legal' as they say, but pretty, all the same...
Now....if only I could catch up with Nicole...[sigh]..

Ah....slaughtered some Kiwis yet again...
