Now it's D-Day for England....taking on the Aussies.

We'll try to be gentle...

Mr. PooPs, I miss you man. I need somebody to help me digest this victory. Whats the mood across the border, eh??

Sachin and Co. dismembered the Pakistan (fearsome?) bowling attack, piece by piece. The Rawalpindi Express lost its steam. And the cramps were the only reason Sachin missed out on century no. 35!!!

Man, I hope this is an indication of the things to come..

Well...first we had Andy Bichel get 7 for 20 off his 10 overs....lookin' good.
Then the Aussies were 4 for 60-odd and it wasn't looking good.
[So I went to bed]
Then along came Bevan, the master of dragging the Aussies screaming to a reluctant victory...

Don't forget Bichel's 34 not out

Guess who the man of the match was?

PS. Has anyone else noticed that after most of Brad Hogg's balls, Gilchrist says "Bowlin' Georgie"? I wonder what the story behind that is .

Bevan deserves some credit for the Aussie win, but mostly it should go to the Endland captain. At 114 for 7 the match should have been over. Instead of pressing home the advantage England sat back and went for a low scoring rate - pathetic. That is not the way to win matches and a head needs to roll... >

Fuzzy, what needs to be destroyed is Nasser's Ego. He has a highly inflated ego that prevents him from thinking clearly. England would have still won if he had not decided, deducing by some wierd, beserk logic, to give the penultimate over to that new guy Anderson (one match winning effort does not qualify him to a podium higher than Caddick or even Flintoff).

His hatred (yeah, hatred is the word for it) for the subcontinental teams will bring about his downfall, if this despicable defeat doesn't get him first.

And Jafo, remember what I said bout Sachin?

Did you see him bat against the Pakistanis? Its soon gonna be your turn, I hope (I still do not fancy India's chances in the S/F), soon. And He (I have to use a capital 'H' in 'He'), if He continues in the present form, will remind you of what Warne fears!!!

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

@shu...if you put all your eggs in one basket you can end up in a lot of heartache.
One good ball and Sachin can be out....then what?...

The Aussies can have 4 of them lose the plot and still have Bevan and a bowler save the day.

Don't forget, in this series, 7 for 20 is only the second best wicket taking...and the best is an Aussie as well...

I know Jafo, that's why I still doubt the progress of the Indians to the S/F (Read the post carefully buddy).

What I meant was that the Australian team must be praying, nay, pleading with the Gods that Sachin doesn't strike gold if they meet India again in the World Cup. Cause if he days, theres gonna be 'ell to pay mate.

And do remember, that no score is too much for the Indian batting line-up on its day. If they fall, its like a pack of cards. But if they click, even a score of 300+ isn't beyond their reach. Its all about which team plays the best on that day mate..

Possibly....but it'll be a great match worth watching...and that's what it's all about...

The British Empire might be dead in the water....but it's left a great legacy....a bunch of countries who enjoy the battle of cricket and trying to thrash each other...

And their former rulers. sheesh

Colonising the former colonisers, hehe. Beating them at their own game. Teaching them their own stuff. A taste of their own medecine..

Any more you can come up with, Jafo?

Hoisted by their own petard...

What Jafo!!! Losing your touch?

medicine not medecine..

Yes South Africa will be gutted...a silly calculation gone wrong....they could have made it...
Easily. And no PooPs, Pakistan did not make it. Done in by their two traditional enemies: India and Infighting!!

Inzy and Younis Khan? What was that???
Oh .. thats sad .... Both the Teams , Zimbabwe and Pakistan got 2 points ... Sadly Zombies qualified for the Super Sixes .... i hate RAIN ... lol
Reply #144 Top
Thats cricket 4 u PooPs, a game of glorious uncertainties..
YEP @shu .... India had its day thanks to sachin ... and it was also our poor captaincy ...
And Yuvraj and Dravid too, PooPs. They were the ones who stayed at the wicket and took India to a victory. Of course, Sachin laid the foundation..

Here's something to think about...

Kenya enter the Super Six with 10 points - the most after Australia's 12 - while New Zealand and Zimbabwe carry forward just 4 and 3.5 points respectively.

This means that New Zealand and Zimbabwe both have to win atleast two matches to overtake Kenya. Otherwise, Kenya will progress without a single win in the Super Six. And if Kenya can pull of an upset win, then Zimbabwe and New Zealand have to win all three matches to be on the safer side..

Some equation, eh?

hehe! I didn't even know we had a team. Heck I din't even know what cricket is, really. What the heck is a wicket and a run?

All I know about cricket is that it's ancestor of baseball.
But looking at scorecards on the cricket world cup web site is like reading chineese.
