WOM WOM

Men---Women

Men---Women

I have noticed that there are more men artists than women. Also more men on the messageboard than women. Why is that? Anybody have some ideas?

hmmm. I'd prefer HER to send me an e-mail first. If "SHE" wants to send me something then 'cool' but WOM, right now you just gave me the three 'no-no''

A. He asks where you live
B. He says he's married but hmmm
C. He uses some 'excuse' to send you something "directly" hmmm.

Nope. Not gon' do it.

Kids, Dinner, Washing, Bills, Kids functions, sports, clubs, sleep, private time for some loved personal things such as artistic outlet / expression, husband, boyfried, girl-friend, alone, time.

Mmmm, dunno that any of those might be a factor if in fact there are any less female artistic types in the world than male.

But it sure does indicate there might be a bit of a balance issue when it comes to time for such things as being online, or what have you.

I know that is not all women, or men for that matter. But it is a larger number of women with such tasks all rolled into 24 hours for those who happen to not be in the artistic industries.

Many women write poems, are writing a journal, drawing, painting, sculpting ( or doing ceramics if that is all the time they have or chosen medium ) when they get a chance and never show anyone outside of a few people.

It is kind of weird, but being male I can related to it because of my back ground. I pretty much close that part of myself off to others and only let the most trusted near it. I do in fact draw and paint and also have a number of cameras that I make use of. But seldomly do I share anything beyond my wife..

well seesh this is a hell of an answer isn't it...

Mmmm after that long drug out foolery, in a word:

Time

Sir WOM.. if your serious?

Many women, and men, do not grow up in nurturing enviornments. They spend their childhood through adulthood learning by mistake exactly what they do not want out of relationships. I do not mean personal ones such as in sleeping with or what have you. I mean any relationship, women can be even more agressive and mean than men when it comes to the order of things in their social structure.

It even goes deeper than that becuase society has dictated exactly what is expected of women in our culture.

They are going to go to school, they are going to meet some guy, they are going to fall in love and make babies and then they are going to put up with what ever he dishes out because that is what a good wife does. Which is exactly what is expected of them for the most part. I know that times have changed over the years, but not all that much in many respects (social engineering is as hard to break as brain-washing, because they are one in the same just on different scales) the conditioning is still with us as a society.

I have yet to understand how my wife who does her job and half her boss'es job, perfrom at task to a positive and gainful outcome, ends up making almost 1/3 rd less than a male in the same position doing half the work and not getting it right half time or not doing anything more than he has to.

On another point, when a woman has a child she understands beyond any other self imposed truths that she is existing for that childs life and what it's possible support base throughout life will be. Many men on the other hand do not see it the exact same way, he works, puts the foo din the fridge, the roof over the head and he needs his free time to un-wind so it is her place to deal with everything else. Well maybe not the money, for whatever reason he applies.

mmm, I think I've run out of paint or actually felf the wall when my butt bumped into it...

mmm, ok, I'll be quiet now...

Now see - I have to disagree with you there, WOM. With the skinning community being an exception, the number of female artists I know by /far/ out number the number of male artists - in all fields: music, multimedia, traditional media, painting, writing, etc.

Come to think of it, with the exception of myself (I /suppose/ I'm technically an artist - just a piss-poor one! ^_^) I only know 5 male artists - 2 of them being cartoonists (not belittling cartoonists any,) and 2 of them musicians.

As for me female friends? I could go on all day counting the number of friends I have who are authors (published,) or screen-writers, or painters, or sculpters... I guess it all just depends on who you know. =D

Oh - and the only artists I know who are actually able to make a -living- at being an artist, aside from my step-father (whose an artistic blacksmith,) have been female too!

Yes, but I'am refering to WC. not the outside world. Very few WC female artists and very few females on the messageboard. Thats what I'am getting at.
