One song lyric.... keep it going

One song lyric.... keep it going

As time goes on,
I realize, just what you mean to me...
And now, now that you're near,
promise your love;
that I've waited to share..
and dreams, of our moments together,
Color my world with hope, of loving you.....

Eric Burdon and the Animals

He blesses the boys as they stand in line
The smell of gun grease
and the bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man
Sky pilot,
Sky pilot,
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

He smiles at the young soldiers
Tells them it's all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry
Sky pilot,
Sky pilot,
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
The order is given
They move down the line
But he'll stay behind and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate

As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels tired and he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage
in the words that he said
Sky pilot,
Sky pilot,
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

You're soldiers of God, you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
May God give you strength
Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
Only time it will tell

In the morning they return
With tears in their eyes
The stench of death drifts up to the skies
A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot
Remembers the words
"Thou shalt not kill."
Sky pilot,
Sky pilot,
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

ahhh

That's cool

I remember the Air Guitar contests out at the beach here in Tampa Bay. Another reason to get sloppy drunk, laugh, play and party!

Beer, beach and bodies !!! I guess gorwing up here wasn't all bad

Oh and Battle of the Bands was always killer also, even better really because it was all weekend long.

"So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears,
Wish you were here."

"You won't burn
You won't bleed
Confess to me girl - Go down"

"Poor little thing
The blackbird,
Wings in the water - go down".

"What is it child?"
Bless me father, bless me father I have sinned....
"I question your innocence"
(Help this blackbird, there's a stone around my leg)
"She's a witch"

(Help this blackbird, there's a stone around my leg)
"Uh, Damn you woman!"

(Help this blackbird, there's a stone around my leg)
"What say you good people?"

(Guilty, Guilty, Guilty)
"I am responsible for your actions"
"Wake the Witch".

I was on my way down to Mexico,
there was trouble on the rise.
It was nothing more than I'd left behind,
which was much to my surprise.
I turned around and lit a cigarette
wiped the dust off of my boots.
When up ahead I saw the crowd,
I knew it was no use.

I'ts been the same way for Oh so long,
it looks like I'm singing the same old song.

A fine and fancy man was he,
doing good things for the poor.
Givin' rides in his rockin' Eighty-eight for free.*
They could not hope for more.
When it came my turn he said to me,
"Have I seen your face before?"
I said, "Oh no, you must be wrong,
I'm from a distant shore.

So if you don't mind, I'll just move along
but it looks like I'm singin' the same old song."

A Nineteen Forty movie star
with a long forgotten name.
She was a sexy mess in her pleated dress,
still hangin' on to fame.
With forgotten lines she missed her cue
and left a glass of wine at home.
She was singin' the same song that I was.
Could we both be wrong?

So hand in hand we walked along,
each of us singin' the same old song.

She don't need anybody to tell her she's pretty.
She's heard it every single day of her life.
He's got to wonder what she sees in him
when there's so many others standing in line.
She gives herself to him,
but he's still on the outside.
She's alone in this world.
She's nobody's girl.
She's nobody's girl.

She's shows up at his doorstep in the middle of the night.
Then she disappears for weeks at a time.
Just enough to keep him wanting more
But never is he satisfied.
And he's left to pick up the pieces
Wondering what does he do this for.
She's off in her own little world.
She's nobody's girl.
She's nobody's girl.

He said, "Before I met her, I didn't love nothin'.
I could take and leave it - that was okay.
She brings out a want in me
for things I didn't even know that I need."

She does anything she wants any time she wants to
with anyone - you know she wants it all.
Still she gets all upset over the least little thing
Man, you hurt her, it makes you feel so small.
And she's a walking contradiction,
but I ache for her inside.
She's fragile like a string of pearls.
She's nobody's girl
She's fragile like a string of pearls.
She's nobody's girl.
She's nobody's girl.
She's nobody's girl.

I did not know that weaksid. I have that album so I am sure I have heard the song though.
# 155, 156 and 157, I do not recognize. What are those?
Keila, yea.. It's sortof part of the song but he talks during this part. He talks about it bleeding and screaming. Then at the end. He says, before he slams it down in the middle of his parents' bed, his dad wakes up and says "Son, what are you doing? That's no way to treat a guitar" Something like that. It's all off of memory

Baby, I don't understand
Why we can't just hold on
to each other's hands.
This time will be the last
I fear unless I make
it all so clear
I need you so.

Take these broken wings
and learn to fly again
and learn to live so free.
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open
up and let us in.

Baby I think tonight
we can take what was wrong
and make it right,
I need you so.
Baby it's all I know
that you're half of the flesh
and blood that makes me whole,
I need you so.

Take these broken wings
and learn to fly again
and learn to live so free.
And when we hear the voices sing
the book of love will open up
and let us in.

An ill wind comes arising
Across the cities of the plain
There's no swimming in the heavy water--
No singing in the acid rain
Red alert
Red alert

It's so hard to stay together
Passing through revolving doors
We need someone to talk to
And someone to sweep the floors--
Incomplete
Incomplete

The world weighs on my shoulders
But what am I to do?
You sometimes drive me crazy--
But I worry about you

I know it makes no difference
To what you're going through
But I see the tip of the iceberg--
And I worry about you

Cruising under your radar
Watching from satellites
Take a page from the red book--
Keep them in your sights
Red alert
Red alert

Left and rights of passage
Black and whites of youth
Who can face the knowledge
That the truth is not the truth?
Obsolete
Absolute

"I was fourteen
she was twelve
father travelled--hers as well--Europa...
down the beaches
hand in hand
twelfh of never on the sand
then war took her away
we swore a vow that day:
we'll be the Pirate Twins again, Europa
oh my country
I'll stand beside you in the rain, Europa
ta république...
nine years after who'd I see
on the cover of a magazine? Europa...
buy her singles and see all her films
paste her pictures on my windowsill
but that's not quite the same--it isn't, is it?
Europa my old friend...
blew in from the hoverport
she was back in London
I pushed past the papermen
calling her name
she smiled for the cameras
as a bodyguard grabbed me
then her eyes were gone for ever
as they drove her away..."

"She took over the whole place
like a cancerous leech..
we tried to stay out
of her corrosive reach.."

"Nothing could make the witch go away
nothing we did, and nothing we say
she took control with her mind games intact
and all the weak ones fell to her pact."

"Noone can see the game that she plays
they all fall under her evil sway.
yet I will stand tall and not give in
to the devil witch and her delusional sin."

The Human Jungle starring Herbert Lom was never this much fun
And I'm ready to swear to that
The room is swaying like a boat
But I'm still afloat and that's a matter of fact
Let's address the last few facts we have today
See if any of them help in any way
Ask ourselves now, what would Dr. Korda say?
Oh, what'll he say when it comes on down?

And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungleGive me the sex and travel
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungleGive me the sex and travelDown in the human jungle

Every Tuesday half-past two
We investigate all the things that people are
See the boy who lost his shoe
See the zoo
See the babies ride in unmarked cars
Then the advert brothers stumble in
Watch the telly, do the ironing
All those ladies never learn a thing
What can you say when it comes on down

And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
Give me the sex and travel
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
Give me the sex and travel
Down in the human jungle

Ba-da ba-da ba-ba bewitched

I'm a camera, I'm a clown
And every you make, I write it down
I know all about your house, I know all about your mouth
I know when, I've got to leave your town
He can help you to recovery
He knows the secrets of psychiatry
You're all now-a-go-go... certainly
But what'll it be when it comes on down?

And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
And you don't ask why
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
Give me the sex and travel
Give me the sex and travel down in the human jungle
Give me the sex and travel
Down in the human jungle

The moon don't move the tides,
to wash me clean
Sun don't shine

Why so unforgiving and why so cold
Been a long time crossing Bridge of Sighs
Cold wind blows
The Gods look down in anger,
on this poor child
Cold wind blows
And Gods look down in anger,
on this poor child
Why so unforgiving and why so cold
Been a long time crossing Bridge of Sighs

In This Place

In this place, filled with empty space
Your love holds the key, baby sympathize with me

Before I lost, your touch of life and grace
I knew that your sweet face could always comfort me
I love you
In this place, full of empty space
Your soft and tender love will always shine for me
I love you
Now I know, what it means to have you gone
I'm down on my knees baby see by me
