Oh and I think Alaska has interstate highways. I think that is even funnier than Hawaii considering that Alaska is not conected to the main land USA. So the highway gos through Canada.

Now the real question is when has Canada become a state since the interstate highway system runs from Alaska to the upper most west coast states?

Hi there. I used to live in Hawaii and it does not have interstate highways. They are just classified as Highways or State Roads. You can only go 40 miles in any direction on Oahu, so I think even calling them highways is pushing it!

/me thinks we have been building paved interfaces between cities/beaches/homes... will have to look up our official designation. We finally figured out that our biggest problem is everyone comes to Honolulu in the morning, goes back at night. So nowdays... we are thinking of building new cities as dots to connect to!

Why do they have braille on drive up atms? Why do you 'park' on a driveway and 'drive' on a parkway. A 24 hour, seven day a week, 365 days a year convience store never closes. Why are there locks on the doors?

Some cities/countries will have gates or chains at shopping center carparks and require them to be closed for one day a year to re-affirm clear title over the land.

My Aunt once had a gate in her back fence so people from behind her could pass through her place to the tram out front. Many years later she tried to deny access, as the neighbours had changed and she was not able to. After a given time it was deemed public access...
