Yeah, let's put a freaking web-browser in our C++ game client. That's a really efficient use of CPU, memory AND programmer resources!

Only problem I have is that they're only using the UI for Normals and have the old style for Ranked.  It's hard to get used to one when it keeps switching on you.  But I'm sure they need to test it out first so whatever.

yeah - they said they were doing that, but I've got to think that's a bit rough.  Pretty sure even the hardcore ranked "only" folks are checking out the new aram map here and there, so prob all impacted.  Ah well.. hopefully deployed to all spots soon.  

I haven't played a game on SR with the new hud (only ARAMS last few days for me) - anything stand out as a big difference with the new hud on SR vs the aram map?  Noticing any big bonuses like better ult communication timing for all ins, etc?

The extra information is good, but the GUI is pretty bad.  Information is harder to get at a glance, things are too needlessly compacted, the color scheme is extremely blue.  The new map already made me feel like my monitor was out of adjustment to begin with, whoever is leading this is seriously into blue, or maybe color blind, not sure which.

Considering more people have higher resolution monitors now, I'm at a big loss as to why they'd think it's a good idea to have smaller, lower contrast text everywhere.

Broke ass jungle items are ruining pretty much every game.  People build Warrior instead of Devourer and literally lose the game with just that item choice.

I haven't gotten to play him mid yet. I saw some one use his barrels cleverly finally. You drop one close to yourself then as far as you can to keep the tether between the two and you Q the barrel close to you and it blows up the second making your harass range greater than your Q range. He might be OK mid like he used to be especially vers kassadin or zed. 

I need to just quit playing, the game is so shit right now it's not even funny.  Between every game being ass because of the way they set up match making to screw people in a series with higher skill opponents, and the absurdly broken jungle items, it's just not fun at all.

Maybe take a break!  I've been playing quite a bit of marvel heroes lately, some other folks are super into hearthstone. Play lol when its fun.  The other day I was just playing an aram - 1st game of the night.  Noticed I became very agitated very quickly for, honestly, foolish reasons. I decided to take a break and go back to marvel heroes.  And very quickly, I was back to being relaxed and just having some fun.  Maybe take a break.  There have been plenty of times for patch changes made things less fun.  So, just wait it out or find something more fun to do with your time.

Anyway, I was about to elo decay, so I decided to get a ranked game in.  Sure enough, I was with a bot lane duo queue (I still wish you could just opt out of having duo queues on either team - its more annoying if you generally prefer to play support, eh). Anyway, I suck it up and offer to fill.  I end up filling as mid and I go lux.  Our team completely levels the enemy team.  I play pretty well as lux (1 dumb death to 1 dumb fiddle ult), but otherwise I think I end with a very nice kda with good kill participation and objective control.  We had a really good team that worked really well together.  They apparently had a bunch of people raging at each other in their team chat.  Anyway, easy win and I'm apparently around 80 lp in plat V now.  Still no major desire to play ranked, though.

I tried the new game mode - got in 2 games.  Game 1 - seemed like everyone on the enemy team was buying upgraded... and it seemed like NO ONE on my team was buying upgrades.  What fun.  So, kind of a dumb experience.

Game 2 - more interesting, but still too much going on for me to figure out good strategies, etc.  Overall its underwhelming. I think they have some cool items - that one where you can impersonate someone on your team is neat.  Didn't really get to do too much. Both games had some pretty awful peeps on my teams and I was jungle ww.  Pretty much all lanes losing (aw, our ap shaco top wasn't good.. who'da thunk).   

WW jungle is pretty solid now though imo.  Devourer/wits = my pref I think on the normal map.  

Yeah i think a bunch of people here screw around in hearthstone. None of us are super high rank though...

i've been trying to beat Sword of the Stars: The Pit, which is a Sci-Fi Roguelike in the SotS Universe (which is one of my favorite <3). i've already had about 100 hours into the game, mostly being stubborn and playing the Space-Dragon-Pheonixs who are generally regarded as one of the weakest 3 classes.

i was doing SO WELL the other day... had gotten down to floor 21 of 40, was doing really well on food (which is the Morrigi's primary weakness resource-wise), my weaponry was AWESOME. i was able to find multiple Morrigi artifacts in a single run, which nearly never happens. Oh, and i had THREE sets of armor which is also nearly never happens at that stage of the game. i had plenty of antibiotics/antivenoms, since floor 20-23 has the infamous "Entropic Wyrm" who one-shots you if he touches you and you don't have a ton of antivenom \:

i was also doing REMARKABLE well since my run was LITTERED with wormhole traps, which deposit you in the middle of a floor 1-3 floors down... which means you typically end up taking a bunch of damage since you're unprepared + you're underleveled.

The only thing i was low on was med-packs. i only had my healing-over-time droid... though i had plenty of energy to keep it running. Anyway, i was a little careless went into a populated hallway with roughly 3/4ths health rather than letting my droid get me to full. Entropic Wyrm comes out, kill it with my laser carbine. Then a bear comes up and mauls my face and resists my paralyze. Fuck. The bear rolls some massive damage (hits me 6-out-of-6 times). i barely kill him, at about 10% health... then this stupid spore monster comes around the corner and kills me mid-cast of my healing spell. \:

God fucking damn it. That was probably the best run i have ever had so far, die to a goddamn spore. Ultimately my fault for walking into the hallway not-at-full-health but still, lost 7 consecutive coin flips.

Upgraded to Windows 10.  It's activation is quite different now.  If you get the free upgrade, I guess its best to upgrade to windows 10 and activate, then do a clean install if you want.  I did the upgrade last night.  Pretty seamless.  Activation would not work, though.  Their activation servers were hammered.  Anyway, I was able to activate when I got home.  

They provide you with a tool to make an ISO or a USB drive (3 gig needed) for a windows 10 image.  I guess your product key gets blown away to some degree.  Now, its linked directly to my hardware and I don't even need to enter a product code when I install.  

Anyway, I did a clean install.  Took about 8 - that's right, 8 minutes to fully install and load a clean OS from scratch.  The product automatically activated (note - they ask you to input product key - you just skip that during the install and it sorts that bit when it auto activates).  Anyway, no issues yesterday with League and windows 10 or marvel heroes anyway. Pretty much a cake walk.  Tonight as I did the fresh install, I'm having to redownload league/etc, but that's nearly done.  good stuff over all

The grind for the new icon seems pretty steep..... Anyway I have been playing a lot of Rogue Legacy the last few days. It is a great game and I will be easily dumping 20+ hours into it to beat it. Also had a Mario Party night with some friends and I managed to win despite a few stars getting stolen by Boo haha. Got to level 3 in the original contra playing legitimate co-op with a friend of mine. Would be epic to beat it some day. 

Yeah - I'm not grinding out the icon.  Nice we all get a skin at any rate though.  

GOT IT!

Wow - so fiora is pretty damn close to a true rework imo.  Slightly familiar, but oh so very different.  Her q is no longer a double targeted dash that requires a minion or person to click on.  Now its literally a dash that procs damage if its close enough.  Her passive is more or less a silly quinn mechanic.  Really cool when it works, but not super reliable.  That passive does give you a little flexibility in playing tanky. 

Her w is also very interesting and new.  The old one was absolute trash.  Now, its... very interesting... and requires some testing.  Its a line shot ability with decent range. You press w, it winds up and then casts.  You get a nice slow or a stun if the attach would have been a disable.  That's not even remotely interesting though.  What is, however - it seems to block all damage during that wind up period.  And block as in it can't suddenly proc you again.  Wukong ult, for example.  If you wind this up (pretty easy to just press w, eh), the moment you press W, dmg negation begins.  In this instance, I started wind up early, a wu kong ulted while I was still winding up, I don't get knocked up or take damage.  When my w ended, he was still spinning on top of me.  No knock up - ALSO no damage.  Depending on how crazy this is, I'm guessing it blocks alot of attacks.  during that window.  The various interaction should be fun to figure out.

Her e only procs for 2 hits.  The 1st slows but can't crit.  The 2nd is a guaranteed crit.  

Anyway, her passive interactoin is a little weird and a weakness.  The q change enables her to dash away if needed.  

Riot is actually putting out news about their server move to Chicago.  I'm pinging like 20ms to there.  So thats nice.  Screw you Thunder!
