Any of you have a better idea how to explain how life steal and spell vamp work?  Or better yet, rename the terms so they make more sense.

For those that don't know - life steal applies to all auto attacks.  Spell vamp applies to any ability (phyiscal/magic dont matter.

Life steal applies to autoattack abilities - like ez q.

I'm guessing folks already read about the gp and mf updates.  COol stuff there.  This new feature game mode sounds found though... depending on balance ofc. 

One of the mechanics of dg I always enjoyed was purchasing upgrades - gold upgrades, minion, etc.  Well the new game mode is all about buying minion upgrades

Curse is a LOT more than just Curse Voice. Its original claim-to-fame is mostly as an add-on manager for WoW. It also runs like.. most of the popular wikis for video games (except, LoL funny enough).

Riot may be thinking that with HotS being released, a partnership with Curse means that they can poach Blizzard-loyal players due to well-timed advertisement and services. Or other advertising options.

It also could be Tencent is actually doing the investing, not Riot Games, which would explain the astronomically high amount.

i doubt that it is purely out of goodwill or ONLY for eventual integration into the LoL Client 2.0.

ah - that's a very good point.  Very curious.  Does seem like a big price tag any rate.  Even if its 30 mil in advertising, idk, just kind of steep.  Still, curious to see if anything comes out of this.  I'm still, still, still, thinking this has something to do with direct integration into the new client so all players can opt in our out of chat automatically.

Riot is loaded, with or without Tencent.  They're a billion dollar a year industry, dropping thirty million on something probably isn't even enough to dent their profit down below the previous year, they jumped to over a billion from the 600 million plus in revenue they made in 2013, even if 2015 is a lackluster year for growth, they'll probably still come up ahead.

Made it to my Diamond 4 promos tonight. I have been on a pretty big hot streak (minus a little 3 game loss streak) to get me there. Hopefully I can go 2-0 and move up at some point this week.

Well had a typical promo experience. Laned vs riven as renekton gave up first blood... game over. Second game played braum because our comp needed disengage. Cait afked in jungle team invaded shes died... great way to start. Kayle dies to wolves in the jungle. Manage to get a double kill bot for cait doesn't matter dudes a fucking idiot and plays terrible the rest of the game. Urgot feeds out of his mind. I afk while the other 4 argue over whos fault the game is 18 minute game.

Well I kept at it and won my next two games and I am in a promo again lol. hopefully I get to mid in 1 or two of those games. 

OK - so I was researching trying to get things sorted with my 4k monitor and I learned something that I think most of you will find useful if you take a few moments to read. My prob with scaling on my monitor is that in LoL certain things are way too small like the health bars - HOWEVER, I still play at a higher resolution than most of you.  TIL you can do this as well pretty freaking easily.  

AMD (and I believe NVIDIA) have something called virtual super resolution.  Lets say your max rez on your monitor is 1920x1080.  Pretty standard stuff.  Well using VSR, you use your graphics card to more or less emulate the higher resolution scaling - the result is a 1920x1080 monitor that can run its desktop and game at 2560x1440.  Now, I tested this on my other monitor and took no FPS hit - that might be the same for you.

Anyway, to try this if you have AMD

1. update to latest drivers (latest release was 7 day ago or so)
2. open up cataylyst control panel.  
3. Click on my digital flat displays
4. Click properties
5. Click the check box for enable virtual super resolution
6. click apply
7. Close catalyst control panel
8. on desktop, right click and then click on resolution
9. Adjust the resolution to 2560x1440
10. Open a LOL custom game and adjust your resolution in gam

Try the max setting or another and see if you like it and if you take a FPS hit.   If you like it, you have a sharper looking image and more field of view

And a headache.

If you have fast eyes, such things are evil.

Plus $4,000.00 is way too much to pay for a monitor.  Unless having that extra field of view gets Pacov to Diamond.  Then it's totally worth and I'm gonna get one too.

4k monitor is 4k resolution, not $4k.

You can pick a decent one up for $600 in the 28 inch range.

I'm getting a little tired of all you homeless kids that can't afford $4,000 monitors.  Maybe stop going to the library to log onto the net to post here and get a job.
