Small aside...

Matter of facts...

I don't belong here, I realize that now after interacting with more folks who HAVE and WILL belong here long after moi. There are plenty of good folks here (don't get me wrong) but it seems the meek get trampled easily by the strong.

No biggy. I tried to feel at home here but the cold shoulders seem to be the most resident aspect that makes me feel unwelcome...Like I'm trying to fit into an "old boys" club and "Lady, you ain't welcome" but we'll "tolerate" your presence if we must. I don't regret spending the 70 bucks because I'm not one to bitch and moan over small change. I never sought affirmation any more than would seek derision but after all this time, just makes me a wee bit sad that I feel as if I'm one of the "un-embraced" (not an actual word btw).

I suppose the kind Leo Bakerstreet (Auggie) himself would call this "drama" but I never took an acting class and drama is not on my mind.

I just hope, that my bucks went to somebody who damned well deserved it.

Say goodnight Gracie...

"Good-night Gracie"

Happy thanksgiving

Well, I'am sorry that you feel that way as we have plenty of men and women on this site. The cold shoulder you may have felt was the site getting used to you. There seems to be a 2-4 week breakin period. I noticed that when I joined. I think you are over reacting. Speaking for myself, I'am not used to you yet, but I've noticed that a lot of people have joined in on your threads. So some people have gotten used to you and I'am sure more would also. But this is a free world, so you can do what you want.

I'm not the most popular or part of the "in" crowd here.

I have been around since skinz.org was the hip place to be, and now 3 years later, i sometimes still feel left out, another face in the crowd

But hey, you won't see me running for the hills because i am a nobody.

So hang around a while

Your last works were accepted, they got good comments. I don't see how you could really be more embraced.

re: my suggestion of removing the wallpaper section; MY suggestion was the one trampled, everyone agreed with you and Boxxi. It's not like I really expected it to happen. I admitted that when I suggested it. I was spouting that opinion on Skinz org two years ago. No one ever listens, nor do I really expect them to. Doesn't mean I'm not right...

I don't remember any other argument that wasn't resolved happily...

I'll tell ya, though, this is the Mr. Roger's Neighborhood of skin/art sites. I'm Ghandi compared to the trolls at wincusto, devart, or practically any other site.

Anyhoo, if I gave you the cold shoulder it was completely inadvertant.

My feelings about fitting in or not have been so circular and variable that I figured no site could possibly have that many fluctuations. So I concluded it must be more my moods than the site (which is mostly consistent in its own way).

'sides, the site will catch up to me sooner or later if it hasn't already. I'll give it some time...

Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry, I submitted to early. I was only wanting to let you know that I have had feelings like that....

Do you get enjoyment from the skins and other work?

I think that is important. The fitting in will come later or maybe not and if you don't the work is still some of the best around, (yours included) so stick around and enjoy.

I think fitting in is overrated anyway.

DS....you'll be hard-pressed to find a more 'level-headed', mature community in skinning than Wincustomize.
Sure, sometimes you may feel you/we have lost the plot or something doesn't 'click', but in reality we are alljust 'doing our thing and getting along'.
If you feel you don't 'fit' then perhaps just a little more time is needed.
To me, you fit.
Website community interaction usually finds its own level of personal 'comfort'....just give it time...

Dark Seraphim, I am one of those individuals who tend to look down upon wallpaper artists, for various reasons, but believe me when I say that your work is excellent. It has a unique feel that makes me actually want to use it on my desktop. What's the address to the rest of your work again?
Anyway, why should those that do not correlate with you intimidate you? For those that don't accept you, perhaps they have a reason that's childish, or perhaps they don't reject you at all. Unless I'm mistaken, you haven't made any actual enemies, people recognize you, and people do take you seriously. If that's not acceptance, than that's a start.

And I am the one who ignores 'tact' on early mornings (like now) and says what the rest only think:

drama, drama...

Jeez, stop worrying about others and do the things you like. Not what people want you to like, do or think.

Y'know, DS, I've thought about your comments for a little bit, searching my own experiences here at WC. Despite several verbal scuffles between members (which appear, consequently, to be resolved), life's been good on the forum.

When I first hit the message boards, it was with great trepidation, because I'm a geneticist, not an artist, and I had no clue how I'd be taken. The people here have been quite friendly, despite everybody's expertise in this area compared to my inane lack of artistic ability.

In other words: thanks to the forum members. I've had a really great time so far, and look forward to the future. A big thanks to the WC crew!

and I'm kidding Dark_Seraphim, me is a girl too and I've run off for diff reasons (mainly being too sensitive or something) but you'll soon learn if you stick around long enough that though it's all just text on a screen some of our strange personalities come through as well
and you would not want it any other way cuz you'd miss even the nasty bully ones when they take off for a while, cuz then there is no one to fight with! hehe

just stick around you would not have spent 70 bucks if you did not like it, you'll get used to everyones personalities in "time"

/me smacks the nasty ones upside their heads!

OK, I too must have missed something...

Dark_Seraphim, I'm sorry to say that there is no such thing as "fitting in" here. There are hundreds of different individuals with hundreds of different opinions, coming from all over this great wide world.
I am one, ith a few others, who very often have diverging opinions on all sorts of topics. I am at times known to be one who isn't afraid to state what he thinks even if it may shock some. I guess one could say that I am sometimes a troublemaker and that I enjoy testing others' convinctions. Now, if *I* manage to still feel I "fit in", I don't see why anybody couldn't.

I suggest you hang around a bit more, I'm sure you'll feel bette in a few weeks.

yeah listen to paxx he is one of the trouble makers... hehe
actually paxxy is one of the reasons I stick around myself

Dark_Seraphim, I am at my sister's house in Virginia for Thanksgiving and I've managed to wrestle the computer away from my brother for a couple of minutes so that I could pop in here briefly. I think you know that I have had more than one knock down drag out fights with a couple of the people here. I'm still on notice by the way and was almost exiled because of my remarks to the infinitely unlikable bakerstreet. How anyone puts up with that guy is beyond my comprehension. And no, I'm not just kidding. I think you also know that I am one of your closest friends and staunchest supporters here on this site and it would make me very sad indeed to see you leave and not return. I know exactly how you feel, trust me! If I have managed to go through a rather painful and intense breaking in period and still be coming around here as much as I do then anyone can. It's not so much about 'fitting in' as it is 'forcing your way in'. I refuse to let anyone chase me out of someplace where I find so much enjoyment. I've had to learn a couple of hard lessons at the beginning but that's just part of the growing process. I am now happy to say that I have made quite a few very good and valuable friendships with a lot of the people on this site. I like this site better than any other site anywhere else on the Internet. I hope you will read this and realize that a lot of people here do care about you and that you do have a lot of friends here.

Damm Jam, that was very good. Maybe she will listen to you but who knows. Some of us tried to get you to listen to them and it took you a while to do that. Maybe she wont take as long and rejoin the crowd.

Round one to the ankle-biters...

Don't forget DS you have friends here who care about you. You have made a bigger impression here than you think. You will be missed lots.

We'll be here when you get back.

the best way to fit in appears to be not giving a d whether you fit in or not. enjoy the ride, and if you go walkabout, walk a big circle back to here.

Thank you guys N gals…I mean that so very sincerely…

I guess I’ve needed a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel and when it turns out to be an oncoming train heading to ker-splat me, it’s always a wee bit depressing. I suppose in a perfect world everyone is nice and respects one another and wouldn’t want to “oust” them for whatever reasons.

Yes, I am too sensitive at times, I see the anger and venom spewed at the wallpaper section and yet when people upload WBs that have the dreaded pink parts that are all screwy you don’t hear people screaming to get rid of that section.

Sure, no app is needed to display Wallpaper and for all intensive purposes it’s a freebie…but I find that one of the neatest things about making wallpaper, that every kind of OS can use it and no app needed!

I respect each and every one of you who took the time to speak up and say something intelligent and also kind. It’s very much appreciated.

Maybe it’s stupid to “want” to fit in at all…but I grew up being artistic and pretty much a loner and I thought maybe I would feel some kindred here, and I DO but I also feel sad about the dissention that seems to be between the skinners and the wall artists…

Life is too short, so I won’t make this too much longer…

In closing, the walls aren’t sucking all the bandwidth so why do we have to be the bad guys? HUH? HUH?

I don't think that anybody is against walls. Its's not windowblind skinners against wallpaper hangers. I think that it is easier to produce walls than skins, so it's about 8-10 to 1 in walls to blinds being uploaded. So it would seem that there is more walls being downloaded to walls. I really don't believe that, but I think that is whats perceived. One can't exist without the other. So just blow it off. By the way I don't neither. Stay cool.
