I have no experience with bryce..Carlitus, what do you use more often? Blender or Bryce?

I released 2 wallpapers using Bryce, but i not used more this program, for the same reasons explained above by Jafo.
I not use a lot Blender, i don't like their interface. I use commercial apps when i wish to create 3D graphics, Hash and Truespace.
BTW, 3d are not my speciallity. Dangerouss and Essorant are very expert on 3D.
About Blender, one month ago a foundation purchased their code, and made the sources available. A developer is trying to make a new interface (more according to modern interfaces, i hope).

Carlitus: Yes, I remember your wallpapers and your comments about it At that time you made a very serious point! I have to agree with you and Jafo. I tried blender, but indeed, stopped when it became too complex with all the windows on the screen. I will have a look at Hash and Truespace then. But actually, it is much more fun creating it by yourself Thank you for your input Carlitus

So, there is a demo, but not at the Corel site, and if you purchase the software from this site, it will cost you an extra $100. Buyer beware! There doesn't seem to be a link for the XP download...... is the software really different for each OS?

Corel used to have the Demo up, and it was up not less than 2 weeks ago. As far as cost, the most expensive place I have found to buy it is Corels web site, unless they just dropped the price and I didn't notice. There is no differance in the downloads, I don't know why they have it broken up. There is only one demo download as far as I know. I have been running Bryce 5 under XP for over a year without a single problem.

ashumodi, let me explain something.

My newest addition atomic pearl is totaly made in bryce.
You can make walls in bryce, and it has much preset things like glass textures, its very easy to chaing things, you just have to try it, sure you like it, bryce rulez

Susan A. Kitchens has an excellent reference book called 'Real World Bryce'
You can get it from Amazon.

if it doesn't have a step by step(by the numbers) guide and a ton of tutorials, I'd be lost.

That's exactly what it is all about! It runs to almost 1000 pages of tutorials and examples and has a special cd that comes with it.
