Did my duty as an American citizen. Not that I really voted on how I felt. I voted for who I thought might win and do the least amount of damage. It is a disgraceful attitude to have but we seem to be stuck with the system we have. I hate the two party system with a passion. I would rather have a system where I could vote for a party. Think of it like this. If there were 100 representative seats open and 10000 voters. If 5000 people voted for party X then X would send 50 reps. If party Y got 100 votes they could send 1 rep. I think that would generate much more interest in 3rd parties.

well, down here in the trenches, in the reality of daily life, we just go along our merry little ways doing the best we can...All those 'folks' who are acting on our behalf don't seem to have a clue most of the time what it takes to survive, but we do and we, for the most part, get along ok.

We've been rejecting both extremes for a long time, and all that it's gotten us is government by a bunch of nice, directionless, self-serving ninnies. Government entities are set up to guarantee that you cannot do anything alone, and must have the support of numerous others. The support of numerous others requires selling out. End of story. End of honorable person in government.
