Bullsh*t

Bullsh*t

I have been a member of this website for almost a year and a half. And ever since I have been coming here, I NEVER got a "Server Too Busy" error message. But all of a sudden, when they started subscriptions mind you, NOTHING can be downloaded and all I get is a "Server Too Busy" message. If you guys are going to turn this to a subscription only website, do so, don't toy with loyal members by putting up these BULLSH*T error messages.

LMAO

I miss all the action on the message boards.

Most people who do not understand what happens on a site do not know about site maintainance, cost, and other details. If the time is taken you can see the symbyousis between the artist, free downloaders, subscription payers, and stardock. It all works together. Stardock gets themes for its users, advertising for there product. Artists get exposer and play with their skills, downloaders get good works (if you download more than 100MB of stuff then you must like it so we ask you to contribute by COMMENTING on the work here, helping with the message board, or News stories. If not that then buy Object Desktop since your obviously using it or the subscription). Subscription payers hold down the fort by paying for bandwidth and getting other premium things.

If the free guys get server busy sometimes so what? I get sever busy too at times. But then again I also know about website administation, developement and cost. Stardock did not have to tell me that, I did the research I needed to do and found out. Plus that is what I am in school for.

Isn't Malikai from Dragon Ball Z? I love that show!!

So you don't make backups of your "important information" and now you blame Stardock. Yes, that makes sense.

Malikai...every and any program which you install on your system has the potential to create problems. The wise will back-up important data and/or settings prior to an install.
If an install of Object Desktop has 'wiped your computer' I strongly suggest it was a fault of the person installing rather than the proggy, as so many people do and have successfully installed the product.

There is a well-known shell called LiteSTEP which, when you're getting it wrong, will give you the wonderful message 'You must Re-install Windows'...and many people have done so, swearing profusely at the proggy when all that was needed was to edit a tiny bit of text in notepad....a 5 second job.
Reason for all these 'pissed-off people'? Their own stupidity for not reading and/or understanding what is/was involved in getting things running correctly.

I got the same message once, too....though that time it was a missing dll file [msvbvm60.dll] ...but that's a long story...

Can someone explain to me why we should care what Malikai thinks about..well anything?

He's an under age, jobless kid who hasn't made any skins or themes or contributed anything to the community.

Malikai, feel free to take a hike. You're not doing anyone any favors by being here.

You're basically annoyed that you can't just leech to an unlimited degree. Welcome to the real world.

Frogboy
Personally, I (and I bet others as well) find people such as Malikai entertaining. Isn't that a reason?

I used to be unable to purchase products with my own money as well, but I don't know of any place in the entire world that gives a discount to people who do not have a job. Do you? Anyway, there are many ways you can still obtain a premium membership to WinCustomize: 1) have your altruistic grandfather purchase a subscription, 2) get a job, because being young is no excuse when one can do a variety of things, or 3) use the money from the lawsuit!

Malikai....just how old are you? I know there's a grocery store in your neighborhood that can always use another bag boy - or a neighbor(s) that need their lawn(s) mowed.

Perhaps when Malikai grows up and actually gets a job, he might understand that nothing is free. The rational for the subcription has been spelled out so clearly that any idiot can understand it.

I have never had problems accessing the site - the value of a Wincustomize subscribtion is undeniable. Can't afford it? Too bad but that ain't my concern nor anyone elses here.

Contrary to what you believe, the world owes you absolutely nothing. I'm with Wombat -- pull!

I thought they were clay plates?

/me has already done the mature, sensible, well reasoned post further up this thread

Lecrayon - Life is not a game of shooting clay pigeons

but, but, but

they do say that if life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

so when life gives you clay pigeons, shouldn't we have a shoot? we could even make it a fund-raising event for WC!

If life gives you clay pidgeons, bake 'em and give 'em to the cat, telling him it's chocolate.
And then say to the cat: "Pull"!
