You paya the money, you getta the goodies. I have downloaded tons and tons. Spent my hard earned money and have received well over the value of that dollar from this site. I do so appreciate all the upgrades to all the programs that I use from here (instantly, (through OD) I might add. And because of those bucks I've spent, I get, let's say, a little preferential status. Duh!!!!! And why not? Draws me here day after day. Love the system here, please don't change a thing.

No, no, no. I don't believe that you NEED to get a royalty check. I don't think anyone should get one, im not backtracking or anything but I don't think we should get one. Oh and Paxx, FYI this might sound pittifull but im runnin Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex GX110, If you know computers thats an Intel pentium 3 Processor at 700 mhz and a 9.51 GB hard drive. Anyone that downloads mp3s knows that that can take up alot off space, just like users take up a lot of bandwidth. So Yes I did delete them. When I first joined I felt I should contribute, and I did. And to be honest, I don't think I got even 200 downloads, so I did not see the point of keeping it there. I you tryin to sell something and it wont sell, will you continue to advertise it?

Jadachris...if it's just that you are new to skinning and your skins weren't 'thrilling' people, don't worry about it, we can't all be treetogs....but don't delete them totally. It's always a giggle coming back to a golden-oldie of a skin years later and [hopefully] seeing a marked difference with what you're doing now...

I've Never had DL problems at WC. Try between 1:30 AM and 3:30 AM Central US time. It's so quiet it's spooky!

most of us don't have jobs and if we do we use them to pay for a house/car/morgage/insurance.....
and there's others that don't live in the stated where the ammount we have to pay turns from $50 to $150 or more so that's gonna be a problem suckering people to pay (if you want a fast server make a scsi server running a T1 or T3 line)

That said, I fail to see why one's ability to pay should determine whether others should pay for them. Someone has to pay for the costs of a given website.

The server is too busy messages are a simple fact of life when you have more people that want to get on than the servers can handle. Life's not fair. Some people apparently haven't noticed that factoid yet. People who pay for a product, good, or service is going to get first dibs on any non-finite resource.

Malikai, when you say "most of us don't have jobs", just who exactly is "us"? I'm not sure that you're speaking for the majority of Wincustomize users. How do you pay for your Internet access every month? How did you manage to afford a PC in the first place?

These things are luxury items. If you can't afford them, then you don't get to have them. I'd like to have a boat and a high definition TV and maybe spend a couple weeks in some tropical paradise, but I can't. I have bills to pay. That's just the way it works. Just because you can't afford them, doesn't mean they should be free, or even cheap.

Well I work for a living and when money was tight I spent my money on necessities and not on luxuries I couldn't afford and didn't really need. And I didn't bitch about it, because that's the way things were. When someone gave me something for free I appreciated it but didn't expect or demand it as a right. Always, someone has to pay the bills.

There's an expression, "beggars can't be choosers" so take that.

but the fact that you have to pay to download pictures off a site is isane and you have to make an account to add them the way i look at it is if you'r making a site to put out pictures then do it right

You don't have to pay to download anything. You could contribute to the site in some other way. Instead of spending your energy and effort complaining about things that you don't fully understand or don't want to accept, you could be contrinuting positively by helping others on these boards or posting some of your own work. I believe that both would eventually provide you with the unlimited downloads.

They could charge a lot more for their products. I'm sure that you work hard at whatever it is that you do for a living - so should/does Stardock. The point I am trying to make to you is that you do not have to pay to download skins or pictures. You could choose to contribute positively to the site in other ways, as stated above.

if you will look at all i have downloaded it's not allot and my computer was completely wiped after i installed the trial of object desktop so i'm quite pissed off at them for it cause i lost all the important information that i gained over the years plus my information games and other large files that took me days to download
