Xion Player UPDATE 2013 !

PLEASE BE AWARE:

Jafo is working on a solution.

Posted on Admin...to seek a definite 'solution'....

New skins made with the new Xion do NOT install/work on the old Xion...but apparently the old skins work on the new.

Incompatibility means either a new gallery section or ALL skins made by the new ver will have to say 'new version skin' in the title or something...and include warning re backward incompatibility with older Xion in the description.

Whom-ever thought up this new version should probably be shot...;)

Paul: This is actually a bit more complicated........ Because the skins are made in Photoshop, and not in "Xion", it means that skins will only "not work" with the older version if you add the new features to them. Does that make sense to you? lol B[]

I re-installed old Xion Version. renamed the zipped files .XSF and it works on the OLD xion now.

I have uploaded the new .Xsf so you can test it now Jafo

Old version skins will still be accepted as is, naturally...;)

Andrew...it'll need a new name...both the skin and the file...so the site definitely sees it as a new upload....looks like it was the same as last time...didn't work...;)

VampehTramp Just downloaded, she got Old Vers. Worked 100 %

Still no go.

I even opened it up and edited the psd...and the file...to 'try' ...and no go.

Others will install directly.  This one doesn't...no matter what you do.

Also removed the included font...no help.

 Kitty doesen´t have the new Player, Downloaded logged in as me and it Works 100%

If it doesen´t work for you now, it´s Not the skin !

Jafo, i just downloaded the old version of xion software. (ive never had the new version of xion software installed ever) and i downloaded neone6's new xion skin from his site and the skin works..... so it must be something on your end.

Andrew...the most recent uploaded Xion is called tron-something...it installed...yours still has not.

I have saved as a zip...renamed to xsf ...double clicked direct...does not matter how you do it...it will not work.

Every 'existing' skin I have tried has worked but not this one.

Perhaps it's being corrupted...but I DO NOT get the 'do you want to install skin' message...and it does NOT show in the skin list.

I'll leave it in the queue until any mod has had a go at seeing if they can get it to function/dl but so far it's a dud.

have you tried the newest upload where the preview is white and not black? thats the one i downloaded and it works.

if it worked for me it must work for you.

Current upload [shows one download] is a white preview...is 568877 bytes dated [upload] 4/13/13 9.52.24

it 'should' install on 'open' but all it does is get Xion to load/start.  The skin does NOT apply.

Pick any other in the gallery...and they will work.

Just installed that one...with no issue.

Can you email me the file...so it bypasses any potential site/cache issue.

So you had it saved...but don't have a link or are you just teasing me?

Ahh...just went and looked through an extra drive and found an old version.

Has anyone else with access downloaded my not yet approved Xion skin ??

-If it works for Kitty, surely it must work for any other downloader, no ?

If it's not yet approved how would anyone download it? Is there a special club or something?
