I'll wait until it's been here a little few hours at least. Probably not fair to judge until everyone stops poking around the new diggs. It sure is pretty, though.

well, the message board is loading Elf's marathon thread in 1/2 (or less) of the old time.

that in its self is an impressive achievement!

already the marathon thread is seeming slower.

it seems people are returning and slowing the site down. or else my machine is giving up again.

Well it's definitely faster. Especially the msgboard which used to take for ever to just get and display the list of message threads.

Let's put it this way - I could make a large espresso coffee, do the washing up and enjoy a leisurely bath while waiting for the old site to load. New code feels *much* quicker.

Doreen, the site knows it's you, that icon only shows up for you, no one else can see it.
