I've been trying to think what would improve the site and realized I like it a lot just the way it is. I'd say don't change it too much...

I would like an easy way to look up a member's profile. Right now you can only look up skin authors so someone that hasn''t posted a skin can't be searched for. So... my vote would be for a 'members list' search.

I agree with that DavidK. My wish list also includes the following user related feature:

On the My Skins section, I would like to know if I have any new comments. Ideally, the site would know if I've read the comments already and tell me if there are new ones, but even something as simple as showing the last comment date would help a lot.

/me realizes this thread was about appearance and not features, but he just couldn't resist
