My father-in-law, who just happens to live next door, decided that he wanted a big deck on the back of his house. Since I'm the only carpenter around....you can guess the rest

I got the main support structures all set out and then he said "Can you put a screened in porch on part of this?"

Well, yes, but that means that I have to redo that part to support walls and a roof, so I had to tear down part of this and rebuild for a porch. That's what I did all day yesterday. Grrrr.

Ever try digging a 4 foot deep, 12" dia hole in the ground using a power auger and your helpers are 11 year old and 10 year old children? We hit a root and the kids went flying . They are fine and wanted to do it again. Sheesh.
