Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Oh god please, someone, anyone, post something about anything...I don't want be responsible for killing anything

I'm taking my kids to see Signs tonight. Can't wait. I have really enjoyed his last two movies. Wish Bruce Willis could have been in this one as well, but I like Mel Gibson. I love the scene where the little girl comes up to Dad in the middle of the night "There's a monster outside my window...can I have a glass of water?"

So matter of factly...it's great!

Enjoy the movies

I got to see the latest Austin Powers flick...
I thought it was hilarious (but I have a sick sense of humor so don't know if anyone else would enjoy it)

Went to see MIB2 on Sunday...err...lets forget that one!

werewolf - I'm taking my kids to see Signs tonight.

???
never heard of it.

well, hope you enjoy it

werewolf - I married that person 24 years ago

married for 24 years is something to be prowd of

eveyone changes over time, even you

dont worry, i wont let you kill the thread.

also, i am hardly one to claim you have made an odd sounding post

sometimes you just have to say what is on your mind to someone, and we are as good a group to say it to as any.

since you have a few spare hours before the movie, how about helping me tickle JavaBrain?

after all 8 paws are better than 4, and i dont want her to be feeling left out

Fuzzy Logic - Went to see MIB2 on Sunday...err...lets forget that one!

i take it that says it all

the thing about MIB that got me was the film wasnt really any thing like the trailers made it out to be.

it was as if all the really fun and exciting bits were in the trailer, and the rest of the film was padding *sigh*

ah, while you are here Doreen, i am noticing that you are also known as "mummy Doreen", and was wondering why?

i presume there is a story behind this, since you arent the only mummy around here.

feline: Signs is by M Night Shymalan, the same guy that did The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.

The movie was fantastic. For such a young guy (29?), he is a genius. From the opening shot till the end, the cinematography was great, it was scary, but also funny at just the right times.

Mel Gibson was great, Joakin (joaquin? ) Phoenix also did a great job, the two kids in the movie, one of which is Macauley Culkins little brother and the other an adorable little girl were super. Shymalan always manages to get the most incredible performances from children.

You guys will just have to go check it out for yourselves. If you like his first two movies you will definitely like this one.

i started watching both of those, and didnt get far into either. just not my sort of film it seems

but then i watch tv and films for simple entertainment. for brain bending ideas i look elsewhere.

feline: With his movies you have to stick it out till the end, specially with 6th Sense. The ending is what blows your mind but I can understand how his style might not be everyone's cup of tea and crumpets.
thing with the 6th sense was i had been told the keep point to the ending before i even started watching it.

comes of overhearing conversations at work
Reply #1589 Top
did someone say crumpets?

where are the crumpets???

/me leaps onto werewolf
*coochy coochy cooo*
/me *tickle* *tickle* *tickle*

come on, where are they?

you cannot hold out for ever!
eeewwww the tickling frenzy has knocked over the box of crumpets...they are all over the floor...werewolf and feline chasing and gobbling crumpets, knocking over the furniture, which brings in mom-doreen with a broom

It is evil that you heard the kicker about that movie before seeing it. Have you seen "The Others" w/ the ex mrs tom cruise?
/me isnt scared of Doreen
/me knows her achilies heel

as for the crumpets, thats what you get for not putting them back in the cuboard. next time you will know better

i am not bothered about knowing the end of 6th sense since i didnt actually watch it. bit of an occupational hazard if you dont go to the cinema, so see films late in the day.

not yet see "the others". i dont normally bother with horror type films, since they arent really my thing.

however i did really like "grose pointe blank" which i have just got on dvd

feline:however i did really like "grose pointe blank" which i have just got on dvd

..excellent taste in films. One of my favourites too.

Damn. I'm gone a few hours and I miss crumpets, grrrrr... >
Reply #1594 Top
Fuzzy, I think there are a few left scattered about...

Grose pointe blank is a great movie...

The Others really isn't Horror, there aren't any monsters or anything, or blood and guts. It's just suspenseful, a litte creepy and a great surprise ending.

Hmmm, don't think I've heard of The Others. I will be going to see Signs though, the trailer looked interesting. Plus Mel Gibson is usually good.
wow....I looked away for a bit and now I'm way behind on the posting...

Werewolf, you have been married for 24 years? That is a long time! (I'm 30, BTW) People *do* change over time. I see that in myself. I changed a lot when I had my daughter and was faced with the resposibility of her life. Scares the crap put of me. The "mommy" in me and the "artist" in me don't see eye to eye, and it's hard.

Fuzzy- see "The Others". The end will scare the crap out of you. It's more scary than 6th sense.

now, I missed the biscuits *and* the crumpets????? Will somebody save me some next time
Reply #1597 Top
We'll same you some biscuits and crumpets...but only if you promise to turn up more often

Sometimes you can be as elusive as Doreen...

As for the film...I'm a cute and fuzzy bunny, very shy and easily frightened...I scare myself all the time
Reply #1598 Top
for 'same' read 'save'. I seem to be developing feline's dodgy typing paw problem, doh!
