Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

so, the thread title changes again today.

dont worry about it

most of us have been here for a while. it was only as we hit 1000 posts that the new short view became available.

try loading the entire thread everytime you make a posting, and you will see why it is so helpful

Who needs IRC?

Anyone who doesn't like restricting random chatting and babbling to particular threads. Anyone who doesn't want to feel guilty about going "off-topic."

Though Doreen and I seem to manage pulling many threads out of their topics anyway....

What can I say? I've been IRCing for ... oh, lord, about 11 or 12 years now ... and ... umm, I've lost my train of thought. I'm feeling old now.

I like msg boards better you can type what you want @ your time, and you don't have to stare at the screen to catch what everyone has said, most ppl in IRC are always|away anyways right?

Off Topic? It's impossible to go off topic here, and I am the first one to probably conquer that Okay, I'm flattering myself.

Anyways, I have to somewhat agree with Glen Eric Reed on the restricting sense. Even though this is the off topic thread, phrased in such a way you can't go off topic... there are restrictions. I, however, do enjoy those restrictions as it cuts out the talk of porn, of drugs, and of alcohol. I think a place such as this would probably be extremely ideal for a place in IRC, any agreements/disagreements?

If you stay off the IRC channels that discuss porn, drugs, and alcohol, then you're fine. The trick is not going on channels with people you don't want to talk to!

And look at it this way -- if someone came into this thread and started mouthing off about something that no one wanted to hear, it'd take a while for an admin to see it and take whatever necessary action (removing the posts, banning the user, etc.) On IRC, it'd be nearly instantaneous.

Don't get me wrong, I love this thread, but IRC is a different animal that shouldn't be bad-mouthed out of hand.

hehe Glen I'm no angel believe me...
I stay away from IRC cuz of the talk porn, drugs, and of alcohol cuz I try to avoid participating in that talk.

and IRC don't ban the friends that belong there but also talk of porn, drugs and alcohol, so it's not always the outsiders that speak of it

Trust me, I can turn into a she devil in one second flat... hehe
I was not trying to bad mouth IRC it has it's good points too!
