Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

LittleBe - Or worse yet, Java, he could hide the coffee from you.

/me *raspberry*
if i did such a silly thing, where would i put several sea's worth of coffee? and then there is the problem of where to put the experimental floating merang castle that is currently in the middle of the coffee lake by the cake.

anyway, there is one overwhelming flaw in this idea. it is hardly going to convince JavaBrain to provide cats with tummy rubs

now now Third Eye, what sort of cat do you take me for?
by feline - 3/18/2002 9:20:45 AM

well feline, I'm still leaning towards thinking you're a Red Tabby??? hehe

I am now going to associate Third eye with "w00t!" He has said it too many times...he must like it!!!

So, once Elf and I are kidnapped, what are we going to do? Swim in the coffee seas? Hide in the chocolate caves? Won't the admins look for us there?

Yes, I agree feline, you will spontaniously combust if you ever meet Jafo in person. The same can be said if my husband ever steps foot into a church (we got married in a Chapel just in case). The only gods he prays to are the "racing gods" at the drag strip.

Trying to figure out how much to charge to re-do a small company's website. Anyone got any suggestions?
well.....

graphics sit around 50-70 dollars....

an entire site? 200-250 dollars?
hmm I'd base it on what new toy do you want to buy next and how much does it cost?

no?
oh okay, nobody can really tell you, cuz it depends on the "Type" of site you design for them & the "Time" that you put into it...

which takes you back to my original suggestion...

*sigh*

Boyfriend's sick. I'm feeling a bit lonely tonight, and I didn't spend any time with him today... *sigh*

ahh well. Good night.

Hey JavaBrain "w**t you!"

heheh

$250 for an entire site seems very low to me. Started doing some research yesterday, and a lot of places charge that just for the home page. Of course, last time I talked to this company, they were too cheap, and I ended up doing nothing for them. Two years later, they still have the same crappy website.

And Doreen, problem basing cost off the next toy I want ... I'm too busy paying bills to worry about toys And with the cutbacks my full-time job has made, this gig could just replace the missing bonuses, incentives, and reduced maximum raise.

Well I still think basing your job off of what toy you want to buy next is the best idea but this might help some...

these rates were given to me by some good ppl that do this stuff, just some ball park figures to get your thoughts going in the right direction

but you can peek at it here:

Hmm, i think i got ripped off..i charged a guy 25 bucks to do a site for him it was like 30 pages with SQL database and i also host it for him... boy i feel like a retard now

JavaBrain - So, once Elf and I are kidnapped, what are we going to do? Swim in the coffee seas? Hide in the chocolate caves? Won't the admins look for us there?

i was thinking of long rambling converstations, loads and loads of chocolate and coffee, and taking time to finalize the unicorns

as for the admins, they only know where the portal to the public chocolate plannet is.

i was planning on hiding you both on the pristine new torus shaped creation of mine. there are 8 suns, all different colours, producing some lovely lighting effects, even more geography to explore, and no-one knows where it is, so you both will be safe, which is good to know

Doreen - I'm still leaning towards thinking you're a Red Tabby??? hehe

/me *flattered*

Thanks for the link, Doreen. Of course, if I use the higher-end estimates on that page, my next toy could be a car I think I'm leaning towards per-page fees now, at any rate, but probably significantly lower, since I've only done non-profit sites so far.

And yes, Jacedia, you did really get ripped off. Chalk it up to experience!

Yeah well im no pro at website design i just get by lol, 25 bucks is better then none, and besides network admin is my field anyways.. i would rather make a steady 140k a year as a senior network admin then never being sure i could even make 1-5k

True, $25 beats nothing. Of course, I got offered $50 by a non-profit and all I did for them is take their design and implement it in HTML. I let 'em keep their money. And since editorial is my field, the 1-5k will be a nice boost. I've settled on $250 for home page and navigation and $25 for additional pages ... we'll see if they bite.

JavaBrain - Third Eye "w00t"ed me... I feel so violated

/me *panic*
/me wonders who is safe
/me gets suspicious about the strange "woot" noises from under the bed
/me discovers monsters hiding under the bed
Reply #548 Top
Ahhh... there there feline. It's OK. Dont worry.
Feline, that isn't monsters under the bed, it is Elf trying to train the mint dragons to sing (they aren't very good, ya' know)

/me thinks she hasn't had enough caffeine....that 50% caffeine coffee isn't cutting it.....
