Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Glen, i played with skin studio a bit a little while ago while trying to work out smart buttons in WB.

my personal conslusion was that it was totaly counter-intuative for what i was trying to do, and also that it didnt support smart buttons.

perhaps the simplest method is simply to point a suitable text editor (www.vim.org) at the UIS files, and go from there

and no ya don't, you guys cannot bring tek talk into this thread...

Glen, have you seen the tutorial at: http://www.aleksyandr.com/tutorial.htm ?

I haven't ever made a skin, so I'm not much help there. But, I do not believe that youcan change the height of Menu bars (I think it messes stuff up if you were to try....)You can change title bars, though.

feline... I really have no intention of learning UIS coding. I already know WAY more computer crap than I possibly need. I also know myself, and know I'd eat, sleep, and breathe the stuff until I learned it. At this point, I'll probably end up with one half-assed WB skin just so I can say I finished it, then go back to Dashboard.

I figure I'm 75%-90% done with that already. The odd thing is, I'm porting my "Skin at Pooh Corner" Dashboard skin, only there doesn't seem to be anyplace to put any actual Pooh images in! Guess I'll just throw in a wallpaper or something

/me has developed a cunning plan

if you coat your monitor (since that is where you are seeing skin studio) in several layers of chocolate body paint, by the time you have eaten though enough to see the screen once more, you should no longer care about UIS files

/me wonders if 2 large sacks of red rose petals is enough for now

i got a little carried away, and coated a few hundered of the petals in chocolate, hope you dont mind

Wouldn't I need chocolate monitor paint?

And you're right, I wouldn't care. I'd be too nauseous.

Besides, inspiration struck for enhancing one of my existing Dashboard skins, so I've gone back to that. I just can't pass up the opportunity to look like I'm trying to boost download numbers.

I lost my wallet....

I had that wallet for more than 5 years. I'm so angry at myself
Reply #487 Top
/me sighs

That wallet just means a lot to me. The history its got... it's really depressing. I have never lost a wallet in my life...... so why now? =/

Java... If I really wanted high download numbers, I'd just complete that WB skin. I think a crappy WB skin would probably get higher numbers than a good Dashboard skin.

Elf... You seem pretty concerned with the lost sentimental value of the wallet.. what about the contents? Wallets are replaceable, and new ones will end up with just as much history.

And as far as never having lost one before, there's a lot of stuff you haven't done yet -- good and bad -- that's yet to happen. If that weren't the case, then what'd be the point of anything? (And why am I so philosophical this morning?)

I would go insane if I lost my purse. I know what's in it, so I could get all the cards cancelled, but just going through the pain of replacing stuff... It's a big enough pain renewing a drivers license, but I've heard replacing it is worse.

sorry to hear about your wallet Elf
I lost a wallet once... (well kinda)
was trying on a pair of shoes in the mall and sat down and placed my wallet next to me, when I went to step up and grab my wallet seems the person next to me had snatched it

wasnt the cash in it, nor the leather it was made of that hurt me but the "pics" I had in it, (before I got my digi cam) that sent me home crying & (needless to say I also was unable to get the shoes I wanted either!)

moral of the story:
I'll never lose another one, I always watch my wallet now, or stick it in my leather backpack which I never need to put down when I'm out shoppin, and since I have a digicam I have back up of all my pics! so that part will never happen again

but I still hope you find it Elf...

Will you please cheer up! KISS

The wallet itself have special meaning. That was a wallet my father and I picked out together. The both of us spent so little time together all through my childhood and adolescent life that...every little thing connected to any members of my family are held in extremely high regards by me.........

Replacing the wallet isn't hard. It wasn't an expensive wallet, but the contents it holds are priceless. I have another wallet that my mother gave me before I left for the states. She wanted me to use the new one, but I don't ever change a new wallet until it is falling apart, literally.

Replacing those ticket stubs..... There were more than 20 ticket stubs of various theatres that I've been to. It marks the times I've been to the movies with my boyfriends, and holds a date and time for each memory. Those were suppose to go into my journal when I finally made a section for it.....

Then there's everything else in that wallet that're rather priceless. It's got my bank account number, my debit cards, my father's card, all the receipts I've gained (I need those receipts.......I need to be able to tell what I bought and match it with the bank statement).... and all the little bits and pieces that I've gathered throughout my travels and my life.

I guess it's a girl thing.....

I pray that it will be returned, without anything missing.

God..typos....

I only have one boyfriend.......

I think it's time I trim my fingernails...
yeah sure, you know you just got busted Elf!
Hey Rob did you see that up there!!!! hehe

yes it is a girl thing Elf, but guess it's time for a new wallet, tickets and stuff

I think it's a girl thing since your wallets are bigger. I'm not sure I could fit 20 ticket stubs into my wallet

Sentimentality, however, is not just a girl thing. I hope, if nothing else, you at least get back the non-monetary items. If someone did pick it up, they won't be after the stuff in there that actually means anything to you. (Not that money doesn't mean anything, but you know what I'm saying.)

So here's a silly question ... Why is it I'm just "Glen Eric Reed" most places on this site, but for the news item I posted today (which actually made it on this time), I'm "Sir Glen Eric Reed?

No, we certainly do not. How dare you accuse us of such a thing!

Actually, I am a Gemini... maybe you're not so far off, Java
