My videos icon not showing up :S

Hello,

I'm having some difficutly figuring out why my videos folder icon isn't changing to what it's supposed to be in the cryo iconset I have. It changes from the windows default icon to the default folder icon for the iconset, but not to the designated my videos folder icon in the set. I have no clue as to how to fix it and any help would be appreciated. Here's a pic to show you what I mean. It's supposed to have one of those movie clapper things on the folder, but it doesn't, it's just the regular looking folder

I had this problem before, do you have any video or movie files in that folder? Try placing an avi file in there, and it should change the icon. Sounds crazy but it works.

Well, I had some wmv, mpg, and a asf file as well and it wasn't working so I found a small avi file on my system and put it in there and tried it and it's still not working. I still have that same icon on there. Do I need to restart my system with that avi file in there for it to change or something, because I've rebuilt the icon cache and repaired the icon images also with Icon Packager

You may have to check the registry, and see if the folder is listed in the shell folders. Run regedit, navigate to:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
and look and see if the My Videos folder is listed, if not you will have to modify the entry to point to that folder. You may want to back up your registry first, before you attempt to modify it.

Here's what that directory you told me to go to looks like. I'm a newb at skinning and such and don't mess with the registry very much at all.

I think it's better for me to show you so you can see what I see rather than me try to explain it to you and confuse both of us

Ok, go up to shell folders instead, it should be in that folder.

Ok, I thought I saw a thing in tweakui for repairing the my videos icon and I did. I tried that and then re-applied the iconset and it's working right now. If it messes up again, I'll let you know. Thanks for the help keep an eye on this thread for me for a day or so, so that way if it messes up again, I can let you know since you've had this problem in the past too. Thanks again!!!!! kiregar
