Window Background in Skin Studio / WinBlinds

Hi all,

Argh! Bah. Meh. I am having some trouble with making my first skin in Skin Studio. I have done everything I want to EXCEPT that I cannot make the "window background - dialog" BMP actually work! I have seen skins such as Apollo that successfully turn the "filler" color on all wondows to (e.g.) grey, but I cannot make MY skin do it. I have assigned a 48x48 BMP, plain blue, to the Window Background - Dialogue attribute in Personality, and have added the same BMP to the window Explorer and WIndow MDI attributes as well. But they don't show when I apply the screen, dispite displaying correctly in the preview tab of SkinStudio.

Any suggestions anyone?

Something interesting, BTW: When I edit the BMP background (dialogBMP) in Appollo or one of the other themes (I just chage its color), the preview changes color to reflect the change, and yet the skin still produces the original background fill even when reloaded / reapplied / restarted. I have assumed that this means there is a SECOND attribute somewhere that controls background color, though I cannot find it, dispite having checked through the "Colors" attributes.

This si driving me crazy as it works in other themes, and is the only aspect of my theme that I have been unable to ocmplete, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

~Mark

*whistles innocently*

How embarrassing! I am a moderator at another forum where I often tell people to do a search for a query before posting... but I failed to do so myself on this occasion, as I was in a hurry and also rather frustrated.

I just discovered the answer to my problem in someone else's post, namely that button.fcae also changes this background filler attribute. I had dismissed that because of its name. Who woulod have thought it would affect other areas of the window?

Thanks for your offer, NightTrain, I appreciate your willingness to take a look for me. Thankfully I can save you the trouble though!

I hope none of my members ever come here....

Be careful changing those button colors (face, shadow, etc..) as you've found out, they affect more than the buttons. I've made a real mess changing those.
