I was able to test this beta on another system with an nVidia 295 in use all three monitors mode.  It worked FLAWLESSLY until I installed Windowblinds and Deskscapes.  BSOD.

Testing further, I found that the animations only seem to crash if I am using BOTH Windowsblinds and Deskscapes together (which I always do).

Unloading Windowblinds while running Deskscapes...no WindowFX crash.

Running Windowblinds while Deskscapes is disabled...no WindowFX crash.

My windowblinds enables transparency in everything using the Glass for Vista skin and transparent/glass explorer windows etc.

So it's some conflict between the three programs at the same time.

I hope this helps.

A nvidia 295 is a multiple GPU card and as such is likely to end up unsupported when both GPUs are being used (as is the case in three head mode)

Yes, I am aware of that, but I wanted to see if mismatched GPUs made a difference (on my other machine) vs. matching GPUs on this test machine, which would indicate a driver issue.

I realize this is unlikely to be fixed, but I thought I'd at least narrow down the parameters should whatever is causing this turn out to be related to some other bug reports.

Or if find yourself bored one day - yeah I know, fat chance.  8)

I do have to say that the performance of this version is far superior in every way to what I experienced under v4 and I like the new interface a lot.  It's really a great update.
