A little bootskin help

I have DL'd a few different bootscreens many times in as many ways as I can think of yet every time they only turn up 2 image files and .ini file.. Rename will not work either.. any ideas?

That's all there is to a BootSkin...... one or two images, and an ini file. When you say rename doesn't work, what are you remaning? If you simply move, extract, or copy,  those files to a folder in the BootSkin directory, it should work.

The boot skin directory? I cannot find on in my explorer .. sorry I am not a comp genius I have bootskin the prog dl'd and installed. As far as the remaning some posts said to rename the .zip to .bootskin

Yes, if you re-name the .zip to .bootskin, then double-click the .bootskin file. it should self install.

yea i seem to have the same problem. You can change it to a bootskin file by opening the configuration settings in notepad, then clicking "save as" and save it as *.bootskin (replacing the * with its original name) with type as "all files". But yet again another problem arises - it says an error opening the file has occured: "Bootskin:error: There was an error importing the skin file. Possible causes are a corrupt skin file or a read-only skin directory."

Any help with this??

Not like that...... right-click the file and select rename.....

lol forget what i said before, i understand what you need to do now but when i change it to a .bootskin file it doesnt work!!

perhaps just extract the .zip? may be it CONTAINS the .bootskin file (would be crazy but possible)
