Newbie question...

I'm new to the whole skinning thing, and am blown away by the quality of work here. I would love to get very into this as a "user" and not a creator (well maybe at some point). However, I'm an avid gamer and have concerns if any windowblinds have any effect on operating system performance?

NO! As the matter of fact windowblinds uses less resources than XP's default GUI interface. Most people turn off the xp interface because its not needed when using windowblinds. The only problem is. I have been too embarrassed myself to ask how to turn off the theme servixe in XP.Therefore I cant tell you how.

Thanks Nighttrain. I think I'll give this a go then.

Let me be the one to ask how to turn off the theme service in XP then.

By turning off the XP interface do you mean the startup of XP whereby you have user accounts etc?

Hit win+r and type services.msc, go to themes and disable it.

Some skins can affect performance.... skins with a lot of animations, or poorly made skins can slow things down, but normally this is not the case.
