How can I remove the Windows progress bar / indicator at bootup ? (not the one part of the bootskin)

Help! How can I remove the first Windows progress bar? The one that appears before the Windows XP (or any other) boot skin?

Use the program, and apply a skin that doesn't have a progress bar. Or make your own with no progress bar. That how I use it. The progress bar doesn't really tell me anything useful, so I'd just as soon not see it.

Thanks, but I'm referring to the first progress bar, the one that first comes up (long from left to right) once you boot before the boot skin. The one your referring to is the short blue one that comes up as part of the boot skin, that one I got rid of.

I've never seen a progress bar before the bootscreen. I dunno, sorry.

Isn't that a Windows 2000 thing? XP doesn't have that.

it's very brief but both xp & 2k do. it's more noticable when you change the boot skin & logon skin. there's also a brief flash of microsoft blue screen (2 secs) before the logon screen, anyone know how to change that to a different color?

(tried hkey_users\default\control_panel\colors\background key already & it did nothing.)

OOOOOH I know what your talking about. Ever since I got sp2, the default bootscreen fades in before bootskin kicks in.... he wants to get rid of that part i think

No... my neighbor has XP and his has the long white one too. I noticed it more often afer I installed GoBack on his computer. You can't do any thing about that one..
