Total Noob here, How do I get what I paid for??

So basically, from what I've come across in searches, this is a problem a lot of people seem to have with Stardock. But, it also seems that they all at least half know what they were doing...

My friend who has already left out of state, back to where he lives, helped me with purchasing Object Desktop for $49.95. I don't have a credit card, but he does, so he was getting it for me, and I was paying him back cash. With the assumption that after I purchased it, I would be able to download it and mess with it on my laptop while hanging with my friends and show them what I was actually talking about (what the program can do and whatnot). But it's been over 6 hours and I still am yet to receive a confirmation email, and nothing has appeared under "my account - products", just "No registrations found", but I've been refreshing both my email and that page a couple of times each hour...

Then I found the "offices"? are only open Monday - Fri, 9am-4pm. I ordered my Object Desktop (well, more my friend did, and used my email-address) at 10:17 pm here on the east coast, US. ... ... does this mean my order won't even process until Monday?!??

Then I tried logging in here on the forums to ask, but couldn't. I eventually after reading over many threads that there was something called Impulse. So, I have an impulse account now, on the same email address as the one my friend entered when he purchased Object Desktop for me.

... What now? I don't know where to go from here to get my program I purchased. I finally saved up enough spare cash to buy this, and now my friend has that money with him, in another state now, and I have nothing... .... little aggravated, confused, don't know what to do, etc...

Help? :/

Impulse has been sold by stardock to gamersgate and will no longer recognize object Desktop subscriptions. Your best bet is to fire an email off to [email protected] . Your order should have been processed immediately and it is very unusual for it not to. One thing, have you tried checking the junk folder of your email account... sometimes the email from stardock may get flagged and end up in there for some reason. Stardock will be able to sort this out for you... be assured of that and i hope you are customising the hell out of your computer soon. good luck mate :)

If the payment has cleared, then using your login here:  https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products  should

get you to where you can download the ODNT product components.

If you don't see the receipt in that email, check the "spam" folders as proggies seem to have a mind of their own at times, as Nimbin answered as well. ;)

If you couldn't login to Forums here, first clear your browser's temp stuff and clear cookies as well. I hope your Stardock account and Forums/Wincustomize sign ons are the same. If not, or if you have created two accounts in error, you can merge them here: https://www.stardock.com/support/registrations/

Impulse is not an option open to you for use because yours is a new subscription since Impulse was sold to GameStop. You can read about it here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/409931

You can read about ObjectDesktop here: http://wiki.wincustomize.com/wiki/Object_Desktop  and what it does. There are also great mini tutorials about Object Desktop here: http://delicious.com/stacks/view/K0hhfC#m=list

Still having problems?  Just ask. We're a pretty friendly crew here and someone will be glad to help, I'm sure.

Thanks for the fast reply, but nope, no email yet. Not anywhere, not even the junk folder. Hmm... But.... I'm assuming the email won't be seen or replied to until Monday?... Sigh. ... ... email sent... ...

And thanks, lol, me too. I've been using free versions of Fences, Objectdock, and Logon Studio for nearly a year now, and have really been wanting the full versions, and especially Windows Blinds and Deskscapes. I just figured it would have been as simple as my friend entering his info, then me pressing a download link moments later, followed be me finally being able to check these programs out. I used the trial version of Blinds and was very pleased.

And I don't believe I've made a Wincustomize account. Do I have to make one of those too? And so far for everything just in case, I've been using the same names and email address for everything. ... so I think I'm good in that aspect, ...?.

But nope, nothin' nowhere...

It's possible that due to your friend purchasing the program for you that the purchase is being held up for a fraud check. There is no way of knowing for sure until someone from Stardock sales returns to work on Monday and checks.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for you.

Also... assuming he completed the transaction fully and correctly....

Well I went through all the steps of purchasing it, just when it got to the payment part I handed him my laptop, he put in the numbers, then handed it back to me and I completed the purchase. Then, afterwards it just said "Your order is being processed". And still nothing here.

Any reason why it would come up as fraud?

I read one post at one point in time saying that the email address you have to use for Stardock has to be the same as for your Paypal? I don't know if he used Paypal or not, and can't contact him for about a week to find out... but either way, My email address was used for Stardock and his would be his for Paypal, since I don't have one. Again, if he used Paypal in the first place (not sure). Or if this is even an issue.

If he used paypal then that would be the most likely issue as his paypal email would not be yours and the products are registered to the email of the purchaser.

On Monday Stardock support will be able to determine if this order is related to a fraud check issue or not.

When you get this all straightened out, remember to delete your trial versions before installing the paid for versions.

So if it is a problem, then what happens? Since my email was used as the address for Stardock, and his for Paypal (if he used it), does that mean even if he tells me his password a week from now I won't be able to download it then either because we used my address? This has easily been the most frustrating thing I've ever done online... *sigh*

And will do DaveBax, no need for them taking up space I suppose, but, they are expired anyways.

[email protected] can sort out the merging of appropriate email accounts...linked to the purchase.

DaveBax's suggestion you delete/uninstall the trial of WB is because attempting to install the full ver over the trial will cause conflicts.

It is a requirement that the trial is uninstalled first....;)

Stardock support will be able to transfer the registration to your email once it is determined if that is the issue.

Post the ticket number here that you received from the email you sent to Stardock support and I will attempt to contact a support tech on Monday morning.

So basically if he used Paypal, then I'll have to contact him a week from now and ask if I can have his email address and password? Great. He said he didn't mind helping me out as long as it wasn't anything complicated.... Hmm.

And not a prob, it's simple to uninstall, lol.

And here's the ticket number Hankers:  NJI-243128. So it can be cleared up to go to my email address, even though it may have been his address if he used Paypal?

It's been said several times: Support will clear everything up. You will have to uninstall the trial copy of windowblinds. I would suggest using Revo uninstaller set at medium strength and removing the reg values in bold font. As always, when editing the registry, make a backup before doing it.

...  ;P  I've never done anything with editing registry, or what that even means, lol. Or what Revo is. ... or if Revo is free. ... lol.

Adam.

PM me your friend's email address.  I see your account but don't see any products attache to it.

/me is Stardock support.

Thanks for the PM.  It does appear that we'll need to take a closer look on Monday.  Sorry about the wait.

Revo uninstaller is free.

Alrighty, just hoping everything gets cleared up tomorrow so I can finally use the programs. And DrJBHL, I have Revo now and am uninstalling, and it's to the point with registry items. I checked you old post again, but I'm confused (sorry). Do I want to just delete the Bolded items, or the non-bolded folders? And for that matter, why not just remove everything?

Anyone? Any reason I can't just uninstall everything? Or do I just uninstall bolded items? Or the non-bolded folders? I should hopefully be getting the stuff today finally, and I'm trying to get this done before I do so I can finally enjoy the programs.

Only remove the items marked in bold print. The other items are still needed, do NOT remove any unmarked entries. Double check them before you delete anything.

Thank you :). And Lastly, do I want it to uninstall "automatic" or  "Custom"?

Should be all set now.

Automatic, and REVO set to Moderate. Good luck with your installs, any trouble, post it here.
