When I attempt to open the image files, I get an error that they aren't valid BMP/DIB/RLE files. What program are you using to create/save them, and what method are you using?

Well that's the problem then ...... why are you saving as jpg, and then renaming to bmp? Why not save as bmp?

Is it possible to save images as .bmp with Photoshop?

I tried saveing the images with photoshop as a .bmp, but you can choose only between .gif .jpg. .png!

Do you want to save the images for me as a .bmp?
You can find the .jpg images here:

And here is the .ini file:

Thanx you very much!

You're kidding, right? ........ I don't use PS, but I'm pretty sure it's quite simple to do so. If you need info on how to do it, I would suggest reading the manual. Surely an expensive program such as PS comes with instructions.

What version of Photoshop are you using? Is it actually Adobe Photoshop or some scaled down manufacturers version that came with a scanner or digital camera? Even then I find it really difficult to believe that it doesn't support bitmaps.

At any rate, if you saved them as .jpg, you can open them yourself in MS Paint and save them as .bmp.

Or you can DL IrfanView http://www.irfanview.com/ It is a freeware file converter which can view almost any graphic file format and can convert to most all of the common graphics formats. It is also a very good tool for resizing or doing batch conversions.

Yes, of course PS will save files as bmp's, although it does take a little finagling to get them saved as 16 color 4bit.

Yeah, that's the problem with being limited to 16 colors, but there's nothing that can be done about that at this time. BootSkin has to load before any graphics drivers are loaded. The more complex an image, the more it will suffer when reduced to 16 colors.
