ObjectDock Background Gallery now Open for Business!

It’s been a long time coming, but today I am happy to announce we have a gallery dedicated exclusively to ObjectDock backgrounds!  This gallery will only contain tabbed and zoomer dock backgrounds for ObjectDock.  No icon permitted, we have the regular ObjectDock gallery for that.

All new background uploads are to be directed to this new gallery.  If you have dock backgrounds already uploaded and want to have them moved, then you will need to contact a mod so we can help preserve your download counts if you wish.

Just to reiterate: Remember to give the name of the skin. A url will not help the Gallery Moderators find and move the Dock.  ;)

Teo questions please.

1, If you click on the link provided above I see the new gallery. However besides the provided link in this thread how would you locate it? I haven't found how to access it from the "Explore" menu at the top of each page.

2. Object Tray and Tile are regular docks. They aren't mentioned above as being accepted into the new page.

If you are a subscriber, you can add it to the Explore menu.  Otherwise you can find links here.

Any dock backgrounds are accepted.

Thank you spencer and for your work on getting it done. Very appreciated.

NOTE: The link you just provided doesn't work. I have been a subscriber for a few years.

Also something happened to the Explore Al And View Gallery List. you use to be able to add additional gallerys now that is gone.

DaveBax, Explore seems to be working okay for me, even added the dock backgrounds to my list.  I'm using IE 8.  You might want to clear out your browser history and cookies and see if that doesn't fix the problem.  :S

EDIT: I agree, ID's link isn't working.

I'm honored to say that with my first upload on the new gallery now the link is full working :D

hey Dave click for the usual upload procedure > select a library > you'll find "ObjectDock_Backgrounds"

just waiting for your and all the other docks skinners entries !

Folks, I'm not a Gallery Mod. Please don't send your requests to me. I'd like to help, but I don't have the proper 'Tools'. Sorry.

That is the link I was talking about but not the main problem as the first link does take you to the new page.

My problem is at the top of ALL pages you were able to go under "Explore" and check or uncheck what you actually wanted to see in your main view. That isn't possible at least for me and yes I have cookies and everything cleared out all the time.

Other problem is is you don't use the link at the top of this thread than how do you access the link as I can't find it anywhere except on this thread.

If you go to Explore and click on Object Dock that is the old gallery with no way to find the new one.

If you want to move dock backgrounds to the new gallery, then here is what to do.

  1. Take a screenshot of your skins list.  Example: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/all/pagesize/30/view/list/author/Island%20Dog
  2. PM a gallery mod with skin name, links, and current download count of the old skin, and above screenshot.
  3. Upload the skin again to the new gallery.
  4. We will then delete the old skin and make any adjustments as needed.

Let me note that this will not be a quick process, it will be done as time allows and please try to do them in batches so they are easier to manage.

Thanks ID! This is great! I'll be moving mine over shortly...and since I have so much to move I'll be doing a little at a time so as not to overwhelm the mods and maybe do some updating along the way as well.

Okay Dave, I see what you are saying now.  If I go to the top of the page while on this thread and hover over Explore it does not show Customize.  If I do it on the WC Home page it shows there.   Must be a bug.

yep .... Explore (drop down menu bottom) > view gallery list  (new page bottom) > ObjectDock_Dockbackgrounds ;)
