Stardock Right-Click is coming...

Stardock Right-Click is coming...

A new Object Desktop component is in the making - Right-Click.  This program is both very simple and very powerful.

It's simple in that it only does one thing: Replace your desktop context menu (right clicking on the desktop).  It's powerful because you can put pretty much anything you imagine on that right click menu.

And it's FAST. Very fast. And it's skinnable (of course). First beta should be out in a couple of weeks for Object Desktop users. (www.objectdesktop.com).

Sounds cool. All I want to know is that does Object bar still have the ability to create right click menus or was that taken out all together?

Brad, will this be stand alone or would it be required to use it in conjunction with OD? The reason I ask is that it seems to be self-sufficient in that it'd make a useful stand alone app, but I'm confused on what it's role will be. I also ask because I don't particularly like using Object Desktop but I would like the ability to skin and customize my right-click desktop menu. Please advise.

Oh! VWM in the desktop rightclick!

It'll be available as part of Object Desktop but we will also make it available as a stand-alone program.

Excellent idea - I'll definately use this when it comes out

I am very excited about this. Always wanted to be able to do more with that menu.

The stand-alone version isn't free.  It's "free" for Object Desktop users since it'll be part of Object Desktop.

I'm sorry, but I've started looking at these application teasers with a grain of salt. What happened to that venture into customizing the view options (list, thumbnails, icons, tree, etc.)? Was I dreaming, or did you guys have an article about Stardock moving in that direction in a big way here on Wincustomize? I love Object Desktop. Lots of great programs, but a few left undercooked.
Right-click sounds cool. Does it work everywhere I use it, or only when right-clicking on the desktop?

~ I currently use ObjectBar and only use it for a desktop menu. I think this would be a fantastic addition to the OD suite!! I do have a couple of questions.

* What will the resource usage be? Less than ObjectBar, which is already quite minimal, I hope.
* Will it be compatible with IconX?
* Will it eventually be available to skin through Skinstudio?I think this one was answered in an earlier post.

~ All in all I'm excited to see something like this bceoming available. Thank you for continuing to produce products which allow us all to make the most of our GUI!!

~ ObjectDesktop is and always will be the greatest investment I ever made for my pc!!

We actually have NeverTrust. But Service Pack 2 made it obsolete so we decided best to shelve it.

Sounds pretty darned useful. The context menu is one of those things I found the most useful and yet the most under developed.

Will there be new elements for WindowBlinds skins to match the context menus skins, or will be totally separate?

Managed to get my OD subscription renewed after all. Whoo-Hoo!!!!! But still, hasn't it been 2 weeks YET???

So if I right click on a file or shortcut I would still have my normal windows menu right?
Right click would only work when clicking on an empty area of my desktop?
If so, this is awesome.

What is the point? All the menu items are kept within the windows registry. Anyone with knowledge of that can easily add or remove items without slowing down windows whatsoever. No matter how small this program is it's still going to have a memory imprint. The only thing this program has going for it is the ability to do complicated skins for the menus. Why not just add the skinning aspect to windowblinds?

A useless program another reason for me not to renew my subscription.
