Oxidized Desktop released!

The most fully featured Stardock premium suite yet - Oxidized Desktop.  Created by long time skinner, Paul Boyer (Mormegil) who has created countless WindowBlinds, icon packages, and DesktopX objects over the years, Oxidized Desktop includes:

  • A WindowBlinds visual style
  • Oxidized icon package
  • Oxidized ObjectDock Plus backgrounds - with tabs
  • Oxidized ObjectDock background
  • Oxidized Boot Skin
  • Oxidized calendar widget
  • Oxidized system meter widget
  • Oxidized clock with integrated weather
  • Oxidized wallpaper
  • Oxidized program launcher widget
  • Oxidized Media Player (see screenshot)

Another nice thing about the widgets is that you can have a hot key (default to F9 and F10 but you can make it whatever) to hide the widgets entirely or have them activate on top of your window so that they're easily accessible.

This suite has been designed specifically to be both cool looking and useful. If the screenshot looks "cluttered" bear in mind that's because we're trying to show it all off.  All the widgets can be hidden with a hot key and the docks/icon size controlled by you.

heh hmmm . . . 8 dollars . . . what's 8 dollars? 2 white mochas at Starbucks. Thanks for such another incredible premium suite! WE WANT MORE!!! (how often to do you hear your clients asking for that! ). Anyway, great job Paul. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the next one . . . who's it gonna be? Tim Dagger? Skinplant? Pixtudio? . . . only time will tell . . . heh heh heh

well like I said above I really love this suite, and if I had to knit pick about it I'd say 70% of the time these suites are missing cursorXP items, that seems to be the only thing that gets missed. With a cursorXP item that in my mind would complete this. But like i've said 2 times now, it's the best suite i've seen/used..
Keep up the great work

I'm with Digital3000 . . . also waiting for the CursorXP part . . . however, well done guys!

The "Handles" spelling is fixed in the included widgets and dxpacks, had made the screenshot and didn't catch it at the time.

There's more goodies in the pipeline, not just from Paul. Though he keeps wandering around with a glazed look in his eyes mumbling "Time to make the icons" for some reason...

Click the round bit in the center of the clock to change the weather zip.

I would love to be able to load these icons up into some editing program and batch process them to add all the misssing icon sizes and color depths. Can you guys do that, or will I have to go in one at a time in Icon Packager and do it. Not everyone uses 48 x48 or 128 x 128, I use 72 x 72 and it's not in there. Looks yucky on the screen.

Please!!!

Also, on the ? icon there are some added artifacting from something else. A yellow/orange line

By the way I bought Toons, and now i have an almost immpossible time to get it to work, if I'm lucky.

Bought It. Tried It. Removed It. Went back to K-TEKSteel.

Color scheme is bad and ugly. Using Visual FoxPro 8 and when I browse a table, the rows that I browse through are then invisible, white on white > Could not figure out how to correct it.

Buttons and tabs are black on dark and hard to see. Always have trouble with Mormegil's skins but usually not with other skins. Sorry!

Love the suite, probably the best I've used yet.

Only thing I'm missing though is a Logon suite.....

But anyway, Paul you do the best work and no matter what you do its a guarenteed work of art. THANKS

Question: is this a stand-alone product or do I need to purchase DesktopX and/or Object Desktop to use it?
tigerlady,

there are two versions, a stand alone, and then (for a discount) one for Odject Desktop Subscribers (since they already have the programs and just need the content)

Being one who loves natural colors and earthtones, this is one fantastic suite!

If this is any indication of future possibilities for artists who gain the proper level (master?)to be able to make some money and share their work, I think the future may be very bright indeed.

Did I hear someone mention icons? Some PNG files would be great for Object Dock.

Or is the proper direction to experiment with exporting the ico files as PNG from an icon editing program (with permission)?

Not sure about the end result quality with that method.

Have not tried yet due to the fact that I am not sure which way to go in the case of a suite which is being sold by the artist. Request additional art from the artist, or permission to experiment?

I don't want to cross any boundries that should be respected.

Any preference on this one, Morgemil?

Thanks again.

Found the Axialis Library in the subdirectory.

Guess I just had to poke around a little.

Now have a happy dock!

Thanks again, Mormegil.
