I have found one issue... if you place a docklet in a custom flyout menu, you can't access it's right mouse popup menu. This makes a lot of docklets near unusable because their functionality depends on that popup menu being available.

Again, thanks guys!

Saleen:

# of docks currently being actively developed: 1: ObjectDock. And it's freeware.

As hopefully anyone who now has ObjectDock Plus can tell you, the features in ObjectDock Plus are features that no one would have dreamed would be part of regular ObjectDock.  I don't think Mobey Dock or whatever ever envisioned having skinnable system tray items, fly out menus, tabs, or the dozens of other really cool features in OD+

Just purchased ObjectDock+ and installed. Loads a previous theme at startup which seems to work fine. But, it CRASHES every time I try to add a new dock (tabbed or non-tabbed). It also CRASHES when I add a "start Menu Entry". Also crashes when I click on a "Fly Menu". Tried deleting dock and starting fresh...no luck. Made sure previous freeware versions were unistalled and tried fresh install of OD+ to a different directory...it displayed a couple of tabbed docks, but when I tried to add a dock it would crash. Tried setting WindowBlinds and WinFX to ignore objectDock+ ...no luck. The freeware (build 1.02 and earlier) worked just fine. Running WinXP...any ideas???

Kirk, very odd. You'll want to go to the news group and repeat what you just wrote.  All the hardware info you can give would be helpful and any other system info. news://news.stardock.com/stardock.objectdock

hey frogboy, i only just realised. The Flyout menu's only work if there is an actual dock. If i took the dock away, the flyout menu item nolonger works. It does work tho. Just something to report...

bought it and after playing with it for some time, I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed. Seems to me that ObjectDockPLUS is basically ObjectDock free plus some kind of desktopX thingie, i.e. the new features aren't really integrated into the original OD. Sure the fly-out-menu, tabs and systray features are cool, but I thought the main feature of OD was the sleek magnifying and dynamic enlargement effects and this does not seem to be possible with new tabbed docks, does it?.
So I hope this will be implemented in future, otherwise I probably won't use any of the new features...

If anything Castilla, i'd say this is more a mix of Tablaunchpad and objectdock. Cant please everyone i guess. But i for one am quite statisfied and pleased with the product.
ok, than it's tablaunchpad. But "Cant please everyone i guess" is not the point. The problem is: you can't have an objectdock which behaves like the original combined with the new features. Although not explicitly advertised, I'm sure I'm not the only one who expected this.
Actually, cant please everyone is the point. There are people who have posted that are certainly satisified with the product including myself.

Animation on tabbed docks was not advertised nor hinted.

DJ_Souless you're right nothing explicit refers to the tab version behaving like the original. But the result is that OD+ now has to distinct dock types. Now I've purchased OD+ and I'm already a fan. But Stardock might want to consider combining the two dock types into one. A tabbed zoomer...

On another note. I've noticed that when you enable the hide the windows taskbar functionality it shrinks the taskbar and sets the auto-hide to enable, anyway to get around this. The ides being that I want to leave and empty space at the bottom of my screen where I got one of my zoomer docks.

I bought OD+ and see that it will be a good program, as with any Beta software there will be bugs and we are helping them with the fixing of these bugs. I'm having the same problems that Citizen zaphod2004 is having but I know that Frogboy and the guys at atardock will fix this and OD+ will be a great program. When it loads default for me it loads a tabbed dock and a normal dock, I can't do any thing else with it but it loads those 2, I try changing the regular docks theme to my old theme as it was already setup and the tabbed doc disapears. I try adding the tabbed dock back in my docks and the whole thing crashes, then asks me if I want to send a report to Microsoft. I know this will all be fixed and worth the wait. Keep up the good work. p.s. the $15 is a small amount compared to some of the other crap I've bought for the computer over the years from othere 3rd party vendors. I'll now get off my soap box.

Casalla, it's OK to want additional features, just make the request at the newsgroups (Frogboy posted it above) and maybe they will add it. Remeber this is a BETA and not eveything is working right yet and new features can (and based on Stardock's past probably will be) added with the initial release and sub releases there after.

For instance on the Thursday posting comments, Frogboy said "Oh and we have a ton of new features that will be part of the 1.x product that will come out over the coming months. Some really cool stuff such as monkeying with workspaces, folder cabinets, more plugins, system tray fly out, etc. ", so keep making requests so they know what people want and you may just see them in the future.

The Multiple monitor feature is great but when toolbars are used on the second monitor the titles show up on the first monitor! Is there any way to turn the titles off?
other than that I am very happy with this program.

WOW!!! I just started playing with OD+, and love it! It's gonna take me a while to really examine this baby.

I wasn't gonna get it, at first, since I never really was all that enamored of Tab LaunchPad, and thought OD+ was basically just a steroid-mutated version of TLP+OD. I bought it, anyway, as I have never been burned by Stardock.

Welp, just being able to add the "Programs" folder as a fly-out menu to my normal dock made my purchase a very wise one, indeed. I can't wait to see how this evolves.

A round of brewskies for Frogboy and the rest of the crew. Put it on my tab!!!

Count me as another happy customer! OD+ is a great combination of a much improved Tab LaunchPad and free ObjectDock. With the system tray feature, now I can finally get rid of my taskbar. I look forward to future updates.

The fly out folders need way more options, like distance, size, ability to open folders not files etc...

I look forward to seeing this get better and better, gj guys.

I'm happy with OD+. I bought it so I can have tabbed drawer docks that are a distinct style from a regular dock. However the mag effect on the regular dock portion still isn't as smooth as I would like so I don't use that portion (I removed the right dock).

I agree on the point of needing the ability to dbl click to open folders in the flyout menu. So many times I have wanted to dbl click on a folder while moving through the flyout only to be denied that simple pleasure!!

Why are people asking for file size and crc#s (near the top mac man was asking). I got an email from someone I DONT KNOW (and they should not have access to my address) asking for this as well. I will not give it because I don't know why they even need it (unless they're up to no good). This is a strange request (especially from a normal citizen). Does this sound strange to anyone else or is it just me.
I rec'd two such e-mails and also consider it strange. I ignored the messages but assume somehow they're trying to get a copy of the software without paying for it. >

Herbzilla, that's what I thought as well (just didn't say it),

but my biggest problem is that I've checked and my email address SHOULD NOT be accessible (deliberately) and I still got an email from whoever (who are now on my rejection list).

Whoever is sending these email STOP, if you are trying to pirate the thing STOP and cough up the $15 (or $20) and give in. If it is for a technical reason (and I really don't see how) email tech support or post a news item through the normal channels (see the link Frogboy posted earlier).

Im all for double-click on flyout items to open them in an explorer window, too.

And menus like kkmenu, please...
I agree, I NEED a Popup Menu thing similar to KKMenu - this is the only reason I didn't go with Object Dock in the first place (and bought True Launch Bar).

I love most of the Stardock software and have now for years - I hope that Object Dock can produce similar loyalties.

I got the same issue with an e-mail asking intel on OD+ they Must be trying for a pirated copy. This is the lousy excuse I got,
"hey, i downoaded my copy of od+ this right away, but i
think mine is corrupted or something. could u please
give me some file details (size, date, filename, and
crc if u can). thanks."
For crying out load, its only 15.00, Its only 15.00, I much rather have them ask for 15.00.
