"Multi-monitor support PLEASE!! That would make it the perfect killer app!" by citizen dexterbelle

It's already there. I have docks on both monitors!

Plus won't even run here. Tried it on two machines and all it does is fire-up MS's error reporting..........

Nice work. I bought it, not bad for a beta. A couple of little issues. Tested these on 2 different machines to be sure. Occasionally the cursor changes to a up and down resizing cursor when hovering over a tabbed dock, does not appear over the original dock. The 2 Stardock tray items (Wincustomize and Stardock trays) do not show up in the system tray tabbed dock.

If I tell the tabbed dock to be on right or left, the tabs become truncated. I can only see 2 or 3 of the tabs and the names are completely out of view. When expanded out all of the icons in the tab do show correctly, just the tab itself has a problem.

One feature request if possible. To have the tabbed system tray size dynamically, like "show all" in the Win tray. Or did I just miss that option somewhere?

Very nice work, thanks!

All things that are in my system tray apear in the dock. The reason the cursor changes is so you can change the tabbed docks size
Reply #107 Top
No, that is not what I meant. The cursor changes even when not on the borders, and stays that way. It takes several minutes to go back to a pointer. Only when hovering over a tabbed dock. All things do appear in my system tray, what I meant was having it resize according to what is in it, like the win tray does when it is set to show all. Right now, I must rezise the bar to show all and then it stays that size whether icons are added or removed from the tray.

There is a problem when you change the image (by browsing to a particular file location) for a shortcut. If you close ObjectDock Plus and then restart it, the changes are lost. Any one noticing this?

Yes. The free version has the same bug.

I agree the tray support in Plus needs something added. It won't show all unless you stretch it. It either needs to stretch on mouse over to show all or have an option to stretch when icons are added.
Also the tabbed dock doesn't go away unless you click somewhere else if you have clicked on it. So it only sees mouse out if you haven't clicked on the dock.

I like the new tab feature very much,I've been waiting for something like this! However, I noticed the following bugs (according to me):

- I only have a tabbed dock. When I try to create a new (2nd) dock (tabbed or not), the program crashes.
- I can't use icons from .icl, .dll or .exe files (only the first icon)
- Changes to shortcuts are lost after a restart.
- I can't drag files into folder items on the dock, or into the recycle bin.
- I can't change the background style for my tabbed dock, only the tab style.
- 'Reset Image' doesn't always work (sometimes it DOES revert to the icon defined in the appimages.ini file though).
- The color names in the colorize dropdown don't match the colors.

I can see why they call it a Beta! Crappy piece of software...I like the free version better!

Mark Snyder....

Thats a bad attitude I dont see you doing any better so give the creater a break...

When you create something better then you can critize like that... your the only bone head that has bad things to say...

Thanks to the crew at Stardock! I installed ObjectDock Plus on Friday.

I am currently running a P4 on a board with Intel's 845GL chipset with their integrated Extreme Graphics chip (a modest working person's home computer) and the application is performing very much like the free version of ObjectDock did when I downloaded it about 2 months ago.

I saw a marked improvement in the stability of the free version with the updates that were offered since then and feel very confident that we will all see the same measure of improved stability and versatility in this new version.

I am easily able to load and run DesktopX, IconX (kool program), WindowBlinds, and ObjectDock Plus at the same time on this level of hardware and have had no real issues that would not be expected out of a Beta program. Certainly no issues with migrating the backgrounds, icons, and themes from the free version to this new improved version.

Thank you again, and all my best to the crew at Stardock.

After some well spent time working through this program, I have come to one solution. IT'S GREAT! I finally have a well organized desktop I can be proud of. Yes it has some issues, but I know Stardock and like all other apps they produce they constantly work to improve them (and remember people this is a BETA so it will not work right for everyone, the point is to let Stardock know so they know what needs fixing )

This is definitely the MOST productive utility I have used ever. I know have a dektop all clear of those ugly icons all over the place. Instead I have a lovely tabbed dock containing them that neatly tucks itself away when I don't need it. Say goodbye to the taskbar, who needs it. I still have my open programs available and still get the System tray as well. Wow, Wow, Wow. About issues people are having, I'm probably one of the rare ones who is having better luck with plus than the older versions of the free one. Performance IS SO MUCH better for me I was amazed (not sure what they did but it worked for me).

Great job to all at stardock who have put all the time and effort into such a great product.

I would like to add a "keep on the track" comment to my wish for the tray above. The tray piece is very stable and is the first one for ObjectDock that has actually functioned without crashing and without icons doing "mysterious" things. I do not regret purchasing it. Now if only the 2 Stardock tray items would show in it They do give me pop ups from where the normal system tray is hidden.

Just my opinion, isn't what the forums are all about?

I'm satisfied with plain old "ObjectDock" and I don't really like the way the new one looks, so I'll just keep what I have

But I never buy software until I've tried it out... so even if I did like the way it looked I prolly wouldn't get it anyway.

I did not think I would pay for this new dock program, but I did decide to try it out. It is worth the money to me because it helps to keep me organized. The better organized my programs and files are the more productive I become. Bottom line this program pays for itself for me. Great job "Frogboy" and crew.

Going back to that email thing... I got an email from the guy same as others here but my email address is NOT visible in my profile and has not been. Any guesses out there how they guy got my email address when it's not available on this site? To the best of my understanding of things, one of three things happened:

1 - My email address was provided in spite of my user settings here on WinCustomize.

2 - My email address was acquired by someone who has sufficient rights to see such things despite my user settings.

3 - The email was sent as a ruse to see if I would assist pirating of software I had purchased.

While I don't mean to point fingers, I can't see any other alternatives and would be very happy to see some other logical explanation as none of the above make me a happy guy.

Maybe I have been away too long but could someone tell me
why I should buy OD+ as opposed to Work Shelf. They do seem to be similiar at first glance. I currently use Object Dock and am happy with a first class product.

WorkShelf and ObjectDock both have tabs, but that's where the similarities end. I'll try to do a video demo soon.

when I click on your name I see an email address.  If you want that hidden, click on *edit account* at the top of the page and uncheck the box that allows your email address to be shown.

Help me! I just bought this thing after carefully reading all the replies, but it won't work! I had the original version of Object Dock and that worked like a charm. This one overwrote the old one so when it first fired up it ran but when I went to place another dock it crashed. It won't even let me place one dock so now I don't even have Object Dock basic! Please someone figure this out soon. I want what I bought! I have full faith that this is a great program but this little bug is, well, bugging me.
