UIS0 Skin Killed My Rig

I can't boot up......

OK, guys. I opened SKS7, new UIS0 skin, named it, added texture to the taskbar and start panel, clicked apply, save changes, and it blurred and locked down.

After waiting a good two minutes or so, I performed a hard reboot, hasn't booted since. Or maybe it has. I do get a black screen and a cursor. No sound, nuttin.

Can't do safe mode, last known good config, nada.

Boot sequence....

Boot order seems correct...loaded optimized defaults, restarted.no help.

Why and how would a borked windowblind affect boot sequence?

BTW, I have a dual boot system and Vista still boots normally.

I have managed to boot into safe mode, but still, just a cursor and a black screen.

Wait a minute.... Vista boots fine??????

You're killin' me hillbilly.....killin' me.....

What boot manager are you using?

Easy BCD Is what I used to decide which to be the default OS. After that, windows gives me the choice every time I boot.

Ok....

Boot into Win7 safe mode: Elevated Command prompt:  sfc /scannow

All modes give me only a cursor and a blank screen. No command prompts available.

Can you boot to Win7 DVD?

I fail to understand how a UIS0 skin can cause this crap. Neil needs to look into this.

Probably, I am currently using a system repair disc that Win 7 lets you create to try system restore. If that fails, I'll try the scannow via startup repair. If all that fails, I do have a spare clone of my 7 drive on a shelf, made a few weeks ago.

Seems system restore worked!
