WC Site Update – April 29th

Hi folks!  We had a couple of site updates today that we wanted to let you know about.  This has already been discussed in the WC 2010 forum, but since everyone doesn’t read the forums I wanted to give a quick update in the news.

Todays update:

  • Skins submitted by Journeyman and above should go through automatic moderation now.
  • Fixed an upload resizing issue.
  • Master skinners have access to a new reports page.
  • The new “My Skins” page is up and now should show much more detail about your skins.

If you run into any issues with the above, or any other issues, please report them in the WinCustomize 2010 forum area.

Thanks Spencer! Thanks to the coding pigeons! Now I can upload!  Can we edit text now, without going into moderation too?

 I ask this because I need to edit some descriptions due to wonky text formatting in the galleries, and I don't want to add work for the guys who are fixing these problems.

Thanks ID esp for fixes 2 and 4. Also, I had the same problem as RND, whereby editing an upload's description to add a gallery link caused the skin to go back into moderation. When all these teething problems have been sorted this will be one cool site. :yes:

Did they fix the problem with the button labeled "Skin Approved" actually being the "Ban author for Life" button...... ;P

I just updated text for Melture Weather Dock and I don't see it in the gallery. I went to my site (old) and it shows as in moderation. Please fix this issue. 

Please push it through for me Snowman?

Two questions about the new “My Skins” page.

1) Why have a column titled Author?  It seems unnecessary and redundant.

2) What exactly does the "Approved" column mean?

Mine are still going into moderation.  Also My Skins page has not changed - cleared cache etc run ccleaner and still same.

So, by this I guess it's safe to state that edited descriptions WILL send a skin to moderation at this time? C'mon someone, make it official one way or the other....please...:thumbsdown:

I'm going to the DX widget gallery and sometimes Melture Weather Dock will be showing under last updated,sometimes it won't. If it is showing,I can refresh the page and it dissapears. It does appear in Jim's gallery as a recent update. It just won't stay in the main gallery. Very odd.

Just uploaded 5 Winstep themes and 1 set of docks and they didn't show up....so I guess the automatic moderation thing is still broke...just letting you know. ;)

Same, I just tried uploading a screenshot and it vanished into the void. :|

It would be nice if there was an actual "My Skins" link at the top of the page like it used to be (well not at the top but you know) so we can easily access that page without having to dig around to find it. I didn't know where to find it at first, tried the My Site link but that took me to the old site.

Jazzy, that is most likely your old gallery. That is the way for all of us. To get to your new gallery, just click your name at the top of the screen, but you must be on the Home page to do it. If you click your name from the forums, it takes you to your old gallery, where you will see X's.

You can also type your nick into the search box at the top right and click the magnifying glass.
