TOON-XP Premium Suite now available!

If you combined the talents of Paul Boyer & Pixtudio together to create the ultimate suite, what would it look like?

Probably something like the new Toon-XP Premium suite! This new suite includes a new visual style created by Pixtudio that has multiple sub-designs and can be colored to any color you'd like, but also supports the new WindowBlinds 4 features such as skinnable Explorer task panes, logon/logoff screens, and much more.

The desktop theme is created by Paul Boyer and supplies a wharf on the right and a cool resource monitoring piece at the top.

The right click desktop menu is replaced with one that is faster and has a link to your most frequently used programs.

And of course, it also includes a ton of excellent icons by Paul Boyer (maker of the Orion icon suites). Each icon supports alpha blending and has resolutions from 16x16 all the way up to 128x128 which makes them ideal for programs like ObjectDock.

And you can pick and choose which pieces you want to use. Only want to use the skin? No problem. Worried that you don't have the software you need installed? No problem, the suite includes a mini-program called ThemeManager which includes the pieces to each program you need to apply the theme. So even if you don't have a given part installed, Toon-XP will automatically take care of it for you upon installation.

Yeah, that is unacceptable considering that there were supposed to be two suites "in the coming year". That was 2002, by the way. However, I do not want a refund of my 20.00. It's not, and never has been about the money for me. After all, it IS only 80 cents per month right? It's about keeping your word, which you personally have repeatedly shown that you have difficulties doing. Keep my 20 bucks and go buy yourself a book on how to treat your customers.

david pull the gum out of your ears and listen. The 2nd suite is coming. Relax a little bit.

I am on a fixed income as I am retired but to sweat $8.00 for a suite that is as sweet as Toon-XP seems to me to be pretty sad. I subscribe to WinCustomize and I also purchase just about every CD or suite that comes out. It is the best way I know to support a fantastic web site since I could never produce these great skins myself. I also intend to be a permanent subscriber to Object Desktop. I don't mean to offend anyone but wanted to add my 2 cents to the plus side of the leadger. Keep up the good work Stardock.

what i want to know is when is an alpha or beta of WB4 going to be released so that we can actually get to use the features of WB4 that this suite offers?
Agreed, Jark. If I could use it to the fullest, I just may reconsider spending the $ on the suite.

BTW, I hope I didn't sound overly pissed with Stardock/Wincustomize before. I've happily been a subscriber since WB 1.x, and plan on staying with it. I truly think the subscription/unlimited updates model is the way to go! Stardock's stuff is one of the few product lines I happily spend my money on. Otherwise I generally use freeware or registered shareware, finding that the small companies tend to have more innovative, better supported products.

Yes Jark - I can't even count on my fingers how many times a day I check OD for that alpha... because I don't have enough fingers! I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Can anyone tell me why the icon package did not load for me? The DesktopX theme loaded, and the wallpaper loaded (I don't have OB or WB installed so it skipped those) but I have IconPackager latest version running and I got nothing for icons when I installed the suite.

Any ideas?

It didn't automatically change the icons for me, but when I opened Icon Packager, Toons was in the list and I applied them. Go ahead and start up Icon Packager and you should see the Toons set listed.

graphicLight, hmmm....not sure what happened. It is included in the 'Toon-XP_thememanager.exe' file that we all downloaded. I extracted all of the idividual themes from that file for quick access later, but it showed up in my Icon Packager list on the first install. All I can suggest would be to try installing the theme again or extract the themes like I did.

I had that problem as well. I think I had an older version of WinStyles (like version 1.61 instead of 1.62). Try uninstalling Winstyles, deleting it, and then redownloading it in Component Manager. After reinstalling you should be able to install all of the components in the suite.

I would like to start by saying, this skin is fantastic, it looks awsome and works like a charm. As for the 8.95 I think it is very much worth it, I can only imagine the time the artists had to put into it. I was however wondering if somebody could help me in getting the object bar to work that is shown on the left in the screenshot? Also a user icon, and icq plus screen and hmmm would it be to greedy to ask for a winamp skin as well, pleaseeee? Also I am having a problem setting the clock in the desktop x theme, can somebody please help with that also? Oh and for what it is worth, I found if you use the bubblegum cursor in cursor xp that it goes very nice with the toon xp theme. Thank you for any help you can give me and again great work, this suite is awsome.

Firstly. Love the skins.
Secondly. Love the skins
I didn't really mind paying the 8.95, but would of expected CursorXP and ICQ skins also.
I do hope, though, that if this pay-for-skin if going to continue, that either the subsciption fee is reduced, or that paid subscribers get a reduction in price. Half-price, sounds good to me.

the cartoon thememanager installer does not install on NT4, says it needs win2k or XP, which really isn't true. I think it should be doing the check to see if you have Object Desktop installed before it does it's OS check, because most of the stuff works fine on NT4, some of it with a bit of tweaking. It just was a pain to have to install it manually. Wonderful suite though, especially on my XP box at home.

Freegoo - thanks for the tips on updating WinStyles to the latest version - that did the trick and wow, what a difference! Got the WB skin and the icons now also. Yikes!

Toon Clock Fix:
Someone in the newsgroups was kind enough to help me. What you need to do is This seems to be a bug with the Clock Plugin. Right-click on theclock, select "configure analog clock plugin". It's the "border width" option that is causing the problem. I'm not altogether sure why they set it up this way, but change border width to 5 and then change the Background colour settings to be R=255 G=0 B=255.
Job done.

And Yeah a cursorxp pack for toon cool! any eta

Thanks, Jess. That fixed the clock.

Anyone know how they managed to make the dock function as it does in the video? They show an icon being dragged away from the dock and it bounces back. When I try that though, it just removes the icon from the dock.
