Doggy Blog

The following was written by Henry, my 8 week old dachsund:

uhc x frc hnccbdbcm nhjbbdf cxjjjxshjuyhtgiuuuu u dxm, ndxnm,

For those of you who don't know, dachsunds like to poke things with their noses (every dachsund I've ever owned has, anyway).  Henry sat on my lap and kept poking the keyboard this morning, so I decided to let him have his way and write some for you.

Here's what I think the translation would sound like:

She put me out in the cold wet grass this morning and I didn't like it so I came inside and pooped on her rug and she told me "no no no' and now I'm sitting on her lap and I'm thinking about taking a nap 'cos playing is hard work and i'm beat.  later.

Oh, to be a dog.  Eat, play, poop, play, sleep.  Sounds like fun to me!

You were right about daschsund's being garbage disposals...Henry has only refused to eat raw onion so far. He even likes ketchup!

Yeah, they will eat anything!  It's OK that he doesn't like onion, because onions are poison to dogs.  My dogs would eat onion if you let them, though.  They will beg for anything.  Their like stomachs with legs.

Doxies are really loving dogs.  They love to be on you if at all possible.  Which is OK because they are so small.  Mine are also very well behaved (well, at least most of the time) and act like you beat them if you merely raise your voice with them.  Very "sensitive" little dogs.

I always thought that they look like they were put together wrong.  Their front feet are huge compared to their back feet, and their back legs are longer than their front so they look like they are running downhill all the time.

He is very cute! I'm still very partial to Maltese but that's what my girls are!

Here's a pic of our first litter shortly after their eyes opened and they could walk.

The one in the middle is Umji, the one with 3 legs.
