Forum Update: New/Read Thread Icons Re-enabled

Just like we promised, the thread icons indicating threads with new comments, or hot topics etc. are back in action!

The catch?  Every thread on the forum right now is showing as "New" to you.  Even threads you've read recently.  This is because we reenabled the feature and you have no cookie tracking the information yet.

If you want to clear all the "New" markers just click on the "Mark All Posts As Read" link at the bottom of the forums. This will remove the "New" icons from everything on the forums.  Only new threads, or threads with new posts from that point forward will show up as "New".

We've added a "Hot Thread" icon to point out threads that are much more active than others.  This should help you spot the more interesting and active threads on the forums.

And now that "New/Read Posts" can be crossed off the list... it's on to tackling other features!

You broke the no ads for subscribers. When I read a post I have the underlined word ads that pop up when your mouse hovers over the word. I have logged off and back on but their still there. Please fix this.

Log out, clear your cookies/cache and log back in.   There shouldn't be any ads.  I can't see them on my subscribed account.

Did that, didn't work the first time but i'll try again.

I logged out, deleted all cookies via the link down below, closed out Internet explorer, went to Internet options via the control panel, deleted all cookies, opened up internet explorer, logged on, and checked the forum...ads in the forums are still there.

Half the time, the page reloads with an ad where the reply box should be located. WC is acting strange. Just wanted to give Zoomba some more info about how FF is acting on JU.

When I made my last post I hadnt noticed any problems. Right after that I opened a few more threads and noticed I was getting the same ads that CarGuy1 is getting. I have since signed out, cleared my cookies/cache, signed back in and am still getting these ad links.

Just a question. When you go to the My Replies section is it supposed to show the locked thread icon on threads that are locked?

Just wondering because i know this WWW Link thread is locked and when you go to it through the front page menus it shows as locked but in the My Replies section it doesnt.

I think I'm having the same problem...that is if you mean it's still not taking me to the newest reply, keeps taking me to the original post, first page. X( Doesn't help me much knowing there's new posts if it won't even take me to them.

Option?? That's a standard, default, built-in feature of every forum software there is, and if it isn't included, it's either a bug or an oversight. What good is reading through tons and tons of replies if we ourselves have to keep track of the last one we read? The forum should do that already.  :SURPRISED:

A few times already I have used the "Mark all posts as read" feature. Each time when I leave the forums and come back though all of them are again marked as "new posts" except for the ones I have actually read recently.

Ok so just so you know these comments arent complaints just trying to let you know the things that seem off. Anyways...

After making that last post I also noticed that once I am on the forums and click My Replies it does show the newest thread replies. But if I stay on the forums reading other threads and/or making a comment and then hit My Replies again it does not update the list until I leave the forums altogether and then come back to them again.

Agreed.. must just need fixed.. even that poxy Maxstyles site takes u to latest unread post  :D 

Also still seeing grey backgrounds behind all the images. X-(
