WB help

Please help! I jsut bought OD today, and WB isn't working correctly. I uninstalled all my freeware (including Alien GUIse) just to make sure nothing was interferring. I even turned off Windows Live OneCre to make sure the file came through with no problem. I dl'd from Stardock Central, and rebooted my computer after the install. I've tried 3 times now and get the same result. When I try to change the skins, XP reverts to Windows Classics (ugly!) and WB freezes. Here's my System info:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.01 (build 40 x86)

Sometimes the silly questions are the important ones. You did register Object Desktop? See I said it was silly.

I assume your on XP......
All your dates/times look good with the exception of Screen.exe the dates right but the time is waaayy off of what mine show (same build). I suggest an uninstall>reboot>verify screen.exe is gone>reinstall>reboot

Yep. First thing I did...all three times

Okay Lantec. I'll try that.

killajosh, Lantec had a much better suggestion than mine. Come back and let us know if that corrected the problem.

Lantec, what's the time show on your screen.exe?
killajosh I also have WB6 and Object Desktop loaded. My screen.exe has a time of 18:37:51.

I uninstalled, rebooted, searched. Still had 2 (yep, count 'em, 2) instances of sreen.xe running. deleted both, rebooted. reinstalled, rebooted. searched, still have 2 screen.exe running with the time 14:33:51

What the (expletive deleted due to me not wanting to ruffle any feathers)?!

Everything in your sysinfo matches mine with the exception of wbsrv

my wbsrv shows 2007/10/04 but I did a straight update last time

my screen.exe = Screen.exe 2007/11/02 14:33:51

also running - WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.01 (build 40 x86)

Well it looks like in your orginial post that you took the right steps. And you did what Lantec suggested. Did any of your other times change? If not maybe for some reason we are still looking at the previous WB download. Just a thought.

my times and dates match Philly's

next suggestion is to check and see if you have the latest driver for your video card.....

I dunno. I've searched and searched after uninstalling WB and can't find any other instances of WB on my system. Even deleted the WB freeware .exe file..... I'm gonna try this again, and I'll post my system info after reboot.

I just updated my drivers last week. The free version worked fine. I'm at a loss right now......

Do you think it might have anything to do with cached files on my computer?
Killajosh did you just delete the freeware version stuff? That could have been causing the problem.
no, i uninstalled it through SDC

Remeber everyone, Stand-alone and SDC (and Trial) all have differing file dates.

Who knows what's gotten screwed up and scrambled.

If you have WB running, set it to classic.
Reboot
Uninstall via sdc
Delete the WB folder
Reboot
Make sure you are still in classic
Install via SDC
reboot
Post your sys info.
