If you look over at the Gallery page, you'll see a list of the 5 most popular skinners on the site over the last 30 days.  These are folks who consistently turn out fantastic work and get a lot of attention.  They're also usually the same handful of people every month.  However, what you may not know is that we have a much more detailed list of top skinners, which list out a lot more folks and you can sort by library and time period, so you can see the top WindowBlinds skinners of all time, or the top bootskin skinners of the last 30 days.

Today, I'd like to highlight the skinners who operate just below the top 5 cutoff.  These skinners are every bit as good as the top 5 names we always display on the Gallery page, but just don't get their name in lights.

Now, a quiz to see how well you know these artists.  Below I've placed one skin from each of these skinners' galleries.  Without clicking on it or looking it up some other way, how many can you correctly attribute to the author?

4 out of 5 were easy for me, I regularly check alot of other skinners work, so many great skinners on this site that it's a benefit to see the different styles that everyone brings as a skinner.

- The azkaban pic gave away the 1st answer relatively quickly, HOS is the Harry Potter skinner extraordinaire on this site.
- the pic of the logon below is Boss's work, he is the "Boss of Logons", I can tell his style without blowing up the preview image.
- I assumed that JJ Ying did the "arzo icons" which are labeled on the preview pic, I could be wrong but I'm sure it's him.
- quentin has his own unique style and he's been on an icon kick lately so I'm sure those are his.
- I couldn't guess the author of the torrent icon but by process of elimination it had to be D Arnaez

Awesome work by all of these authors!!!

- I just checked after reading that and to date only 5 authors have submitted skins in the ob2 category, there are only 8 skins in total. I always wonder why ob2 never took off the way ob did?

I believe that most folks that use OB have it set to use teh current WB skin.  It does such a good job of applying that, why do more?

in fact on the 8 skins 4 come from the same author so:
1 author make 4
1 other make 1
1 other make 1
1 other make 1
1 other make 1

Hum Zubaz when do you will make an other one?

thanks Zoomba to show up this feature but i believed it's the 4 not 5 who are displayed on Galleries Page you miss one (Pstt the #5 is Night Train with 50,142 dlds)

I could figure out HeirOfSlytherin, JJ, Quentin, and boss so all that was left was Arnaez. Nice to see the other half of the top ten highlighted. They all rock!

Great post Zoomba, fun too Having us guess is a great way to learn who the skinners are, hope to see this done with oldies but goodies as well. Each & every skinner deserves to have their name in lights. Hard to do with a site this large but featuring different types of skins ect will bring those names to the forefront. I also want to thank you for all the work involved in putting these articles together.

I was able to get 4 out of 5, the logon simply because I do not use them.

Skinner Extraordinaire. I like that title. But your right that Azkaban was a dead giveaway. I have been pondering the question, What do i do after Harry Potter? Can i establish a style that is recognizable as Night Train, Brainiac and others? For now i'm happy i made the top ten and everyone is enjoying my work. Thanks Zoomba!
